Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Specimen Accessioner to join our team. The Specimen Accessioner will be responsible for receiving, labeling, and preparing clinical specimens for laboratory testing. This role plays a crucial part in the initial processing of samples in a clinical laboratory setting. This is a night shift position.
Responsibilities:
- The Specimen Accessioned will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast - paced , high - throughout environment according to established standard operating procedures
- Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
- Unpack and route specimens for analysis and testing
- Accurately identify and label specimens
- Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
- Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
- Resolve and document any problem specimens
Requirements:
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and clinical laboratory operations
- Understanding of medical terminology is a plus
- Experience with specimen collection processing techniques
- Data entry
