Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company

Wells Fargo Compliance is the company’s compliance second line of defense function, providing company-wide leadership, standards, support, and independent oversight to ensure that all business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet compliance responsibilities, and manage compliance risks. Wells Fargo Compliance credibly challenges management decisions, business processes and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for compliance risk management activities across the enterprise.

Within Wells Fargo Compliance, the Enterprise Testing group is responsible for establishing and maintaining a consolidated Enterprise Testing program at the corporate level. Enterprise Testing is responsible for developing a common methodology and standards, providing governance and oversight, executing testing; and conducting horizontal reviews. Testing and validation teams are responsible for implementing the Enterprise Testing methodology and standards, and executing group-specific testing.

Wholesale Testing and Validation (T&V), within Enterprise Testing (ET), is seeking a Compliance Consultant 3 to lead and assist with the development and execution of testing and issue validation activities, including independently assessing the design and operating effectiveness of Commercial Banking business controls in accordance with Enterprise and Wholesale standards and Line of Business (LOB) specific requirements.

Specifically, this Compliance Consultant 3 will:
Participate in planning, scoping, executing and reporting on regulatory and policy requirement testing and issue validation reviews.
Partner with other team members throughout multiple concurrent reviews.
Establish and maintain strong relationships across Wholesale Testing & Validation teams, Wholesale lines of business, and Wells Fargo Audit Services (WFAS).
Conduct interviews within the lines of business to develop a strong understanding of relevant processes and controls that mitigate risk of regulatory and policy non-compliance.
Document process walk-throughs that clearly and concisely explain the key process steps and how they are performed.
Complete timely and efficient tests to support conclusions on the design and performance of controls and overall effectiveness of the control environment to ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
Complete issue validation activities to assess the adequacy of corrective actions that address the risk and control issues identified during compliance testing reviews.
Document test steps and results in a clear and concise manner that support the work completed and can be easily understood by an independent person.
Communicate testing results to management, at the appropriate time and with the necessary level of detail, to ensure no surprises.
Create recommendations for improvement of processes and/or controls to remediate deficiencies and work with LOB stakeholders and internal risk partners to ensure appropriate corrective actions are defined to resolve weaknesses.
Ensure alignment of controls, procedures, and testing to compliance requirements, policies, and practices.

Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both
2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: additional compliance, additional operational risk management, IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience; or a BS/BA degree or higher in business or a related field

Other Desired Qualifications
2+ years of auditing, testing or quality assurance experience in compliance or operational risk management
Experience executing detailed test instructions and conducting reviews to assess controls and / or process effectiveness.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast paced, changing, and virtual environment; prioritize work and guide team in prioritizing work to meet deadlines and achieve goals under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
Proven experience in building effective partnerships with multiple stakeholders at all levels within an organization.
Current or previous experience in Wells Fargo’s risk management framework within the first, second, or third lines of defense.
An active Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation
Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements surrounding the following Regulations: Reg B-Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Reg C-Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HDMA), Reg V- Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA)
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
