Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible to the CAO (Chief Accounting Officer) for the day-to-day functioning of the financial activities of Adams Group. This includes producing accurate financial records prepared in accordance with US GAAP, as well as overseeing billing, inventory, revenue recognition, other accounting functions. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will support CAo in any financial or other accounting related audits.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS in Accounting preferred
- 3-5 Years accounting experience preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment strongly preferred
- Advanced computer skills including Office Suite applications and QuickBooks required
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude during periods of change whether in IT systems, team members, or process required
- Ability to concurrently manage work tasks, shifting attention based on priority required
- Acute attention to detail required
- Must have the ability to catch mistakes, make judgment calls on value added tasks, have the ability to identify tasks that can be eliminated or streamlined while maintaining process rigor required
- Ability to think critically required
- Ability to maintain total confidentiality is required

Duties and Responsibilities
Billing & A/R Collections
- Manage monthly billing process by proactively communicating with Adams Group project teams and General Contractors (GCs) to determine and fulfill monthly billing requirements
- Supervise the Project Accountant's preparation and submission of pay applications, G703s, lien waivers, sworn statements, and other billing related documents
- Proactively perform follow up on outstanding A/R to ensure payments are received timely
- Confirm proper tax rates are being used on all VSA's
- Create Quarterly WIP report and submit to CAO for review and final submission
- Send A/R aging reports to Executive team monthly
- Respond to ad hoc requests from Adams Group officers regarding receivables and collections
Financial Accounting
- Maintain the inventory sub-ledger and reconcile to the general ledger monthly
- Coordinate and oversee quarterly cycle counts and year-end physical count and maintain accurate inventory and related documentation
- Perform monthly analysis of revenue recognition using percentage of completion method
- Maintain Fixed Asset sub-ledger and reconcile to the G/L monthly
- Responsible for the physical inventory of fixed assets (additions,disposals)
- Assist with audits, external financial reporting and preparing other schedules and reports to support the CAO, as needed
- Evaluate accounting processes by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes were required
- Establish and monitor internal controls
- Maintain Adams Group process flow documentation
- Prepare sales and used tax packet for review monthly
