Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Leader - Consumer Products Finance will partner with the Leader of Consumer Products and the entire Consumer Products commercial team, in order to achieve tactical pricing and margin leadership, effective and timely cost control, and insightful financial analysis for the Consumer Products business.
The primary responsibility of the Leader - Consumer Products Finance is to provide support for the Consumer Products team in order to deliver improved business results. This position will develop a deep understanding of consumer products margins by customer, SKU and channel, find pricing and trade management issues, and identify opportunities for improvement. In addition, this position will monitor overhead cost management within Consumer Products while also being the finance lead for Consumer Products-related working capital matters including Accounts Receivable and Inventory management. This role relies heavily on having deep financial understanding of data, costs and contracts as well as Darigold internal financial tools and systems. This role depends heavily on competence and influence. Pricing decisions lie within the Consumer Products commercial team and this role is expected to proactively be a force for improvement through them. This position is also responsible for the Trade Management team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Optimize Consumer Products margins and profitability
By SKU, customer and channel
Branded and private-label
Understanding commodity-based margins in the context of a changing marketplace
Provide accurate cost data in the development of new pricing for Requests for Proposal (RFPs) or for new products for existing customers.
Lead the maintenance of consumer products pricing across brands, categories, channels, specific customers, and salespeople.
Provide analytical frameworks and reporting to grow profitability through net price realization, trade spend by customer, price elasticity and ROI of sales and marketing projects (i.e. ROI by customer), as well as overall expense management.
Collaborate with the Consumer Products sales and marketing teams to achieve category and customer based strategic, margin and volume objectives.
Support ongoing business analysis processes such as SKU rationalization and stage/gate.
Support Consumer Products leadership and the Darigold executive team in the monthly review of financial results as well as the annual preparation of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
Provide key insights to Consumer Products business performance by analyzing actual and forecasted results against prior year and the AOP.
Provide support for the development of business forecasts on a regular basis.
Support Consumer Products initiatives for renovation and expansion including being the lead for Consumer Products capital expenditure projects.

Strong understanding of the U.S. food marketplace including both retailer and foodservice channels.
Excellent understanding of financial and accounting statements, concepts and principles for a manufacturing-based, consumer products business.
Comfortable working in an ambiguous and fluidly changing environment.
Education, Experience and Certifications:
Direct, substantial experience with a variety of consumer products pricing models
Fixed, floating and indexed models
Conventional CPG and indexed models
Branded and private-label
Direct experience in pricing programs, trade management tools and negotiation with Fortune 500 and Global food retailers and distributors
7-10 years of progressively advancing financial management experience required, 3-5 years financial management experience in an agribusiness or commodity linked environment required, 3-5 years of finance management experience in manufacturing-based CPG required
Demonstrated success in competitive and high criteria professional and/or academic environments
Excellent Excel, PowerPoint skills; Strong Oracle systems knowledge a plus
BA/BS required, MBA preferred – expectation of at least 1 academic degree in business, finance or related area
CPA, CMA, CFA or other similar certification preferred
