Mamahuhu, a San Francisco-based restaurant and CPG company founded to create happier and healthier communities by spreading the joy of Chinese-American fare, seeks a talented, growth-focused Social Media Coordinator to film & edit content for our social media platforms.
REPORTS TO: Associate Marketing Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Film & edit photo and video content to be posted to TikTok, Instagram, and/or Youtube Shorts, to promote and drive engagement with Mamahuhu’s direct-to-consumer brand, Bay Area restaurants, and community events
- Uphold Mamahuhu’s established presence on social media with a combination of in-house created content and paid creator relationships
- Become a representative of Mamahuhu’s brand, by embodying the Mamahuhu brand voice and values and using your talents to grow our community and position Mamahuhu as a relevant, engaging brand in the video-based social media landscape
- Coordinate with the Content Strategist to execute a content strategy that grows our community and positions Mamahuhu as an engaging brand that’s worth paying attention to
- Identify emerging trends in order to act quickly to drive eyeballs, grow engagement, and increase community size within established and up-and-coming social platforms
- Work with Mamahuhu management team to define and execute on our influencer strategy
- Identify and liaise with relevant influencers, identifying clear expectations for deliverables, negotiating fair rates for content, and ensuring the relevant agreements are in place
- Build short-term and lasting relationships with influencers and micro-influencers that generate relevancy, awareness, and lasting brand equity
- Manage engagement of Mamahuhu’s online community by reposting stories, answering DMs, and responding to comments
- Use data and analytics to determine the success of video content and make recommendations for future content development
- Analyze ROI for social campaigns and influencer relationships
QUALIFICATIONS
- Tasteful, fluent and design-driven videography and photography skills, including masterful video editing
- Extensive knowledge and 1-2 years of executional success with TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Youtube Shorts platforms and companion apps
- A deep passion for storytelling via short-form video formats
- Strong entrepreneurial drive and sense of ownership
- Savors the opportunity to get in front of the camera or behind the mic
- History of creating engaging and well-performing content, whether for yourself or a brand
- Always having your finger on the pulse of the next trends in social media and food spaces, and possesses a strong ability to storyboard and create content quickly to keep ahead of the curve - and the ability to discern which trends and practices align with our values and voice. Lives and breath the sub-cultures of TikTok and other relevant platforms
- Has a passion for food, and for Mamahuhu’s mission to make it easy for people to fall in love with Chinese-American cuisine all over again
- Willingness and ability to ‘roll up your sleeves’ and get things done independently
NICE-TO-HAVES
- Experience working with direct-to-consumer brands or restaurants on social media
- Experience creating content that performs well with both millennial (25-34) and Gen Z (18-24) audiences
- Familiarity with Bay Area influencer scene
- Holds an existing position in the foodie/recipe development influencer community
- Graphic design experience
LOCATION
This is a hybrid position with in-person work at our kitchens and restaurants in San Francisco 2-3 days per week. We have a flexible work culture and can accommodate occasional fully remote work (e.g., for travel).
