DDS would like to announce the availability of a full-time Laborer II position working in the Northeast Region for Hogan Regional Center.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary purpose of the Laborer II is the Performance of manual, semi-skilled building and repair tasks and assists skilled tradesmen, performs routine tasks not requiring skilled laborer; performs related ground duties, mowing, trimming, raking, assists in snow removal of designated areas; performs related work as required.

DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists tradesmen in any trade by performing the heavier and less skilled work on construction or repair work including carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, roofing and electrical.
Works independently on minor repair work in any trade
Assists in heavy lifting, sets and moves scaffolding
Makes or assists in making concrete forms and pouring concrete
Cleans tools, equipment and work area after completion of construction or repairs
Operates a truck or other equipment in clearing snow, repairing pavement or assisting in related road work.
Mounts or installs washers, dryers, fans, bulletin boards, shelves, etc.
Hangs or removes doors, windows, storm windows and storm doors
Assists and operates power tools and machinery drills, grinders, saws, etc.
Cleans and maintains pool, recreational equipment, and screen houses
Performs tasks required by Preventative Maintenance Program
Performs ground duties such as hand mowing, trimming and raking
Performs related work as required
This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" Position in the Department of Developmental Services Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, you will be required to report to work.

Pre-Hire Process:
A criminal background check (CORI) will be completed on the recommended candidate as required by the regulations set forth by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services prior to the candidate being hired. In addition, Chapter 234 of the Acts of 2014, An Act Requiring National Background Checks, requires the Department of Developmental Services to conduct fingerprint-based check of the state and national criminal history databases on the recommended candidate. ALL EMPLOYEES ARE PAID ON A BI-WEEKLY BASIS AND MUST HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT.

SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday 7:00am – 3:30 pm
Days off – Saturday/Sunday

Qualifications

Minimum Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have at least six months of full-time, or equivalent part- time experience in performing manual labor in connection with general construction or maintenance work.
