Contract

Support the Supply Management function within MISO by providing strong analytical and technical support for the procurement and distribution of goods, services, and supplies for the organization. Perform varied and complex operational analyses and reports that address procurement-related deliverables.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Gather and analyze data to enable and support supplier performance management, budgeting, compliance, and planning
Work with suppliers to gather data, understand market and data trends, and stay informed of supplier changes that may impact the company
Assist with the completion and analyses of supplier risk
Support and track supplier business continuity plans and their risk profiles
Support, identify, and/or obtain cost savings through activities such data analyses, identification of alternative sources or solutions, etc.
Comply with the MISO policy during daily supply management activities
Evaluate existing processes and make recommendations for process improvement to increase effectiveness and efficiency
Develop and implement appropriate methods for monitoring, analyzing, and preparing data for management reports and statistics
Conduct cost studies and/or financial analysis to provide value information to leadership in support of cost related initiatives or enhancements
Effectively interface with internal and external customers to ensure delivery of information and analyses that supports business strategy
Perform statistical or operational analyses on assigned projects in order to identify trends, variances, and data gaps
Take action in a self-directed manner to identify issues and make recommendations to department leadership. Collaborate with department management and recommend specific actions in response to analyses.
Attend customer meetings with a Procurement Manager or Energy Advisor as needed
Assist the Supply Manager and team in advising and analyzing new supply markets, concepts, and commodities
Support category strategy development
Support/conduct RFx events as required
Provide in-depth analytical support
Professionally exercise discretion and independent judgment in day-to-day work
Compliance with all processes, procedures, and standards applicable to the position including (but not limited to): SSAE18 SOC 1 (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16, Service Organization Controls 1), CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection), Change Management, Tariff (Open Access Transmission, Energy and Operating Reserve Markets Tariff), FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation), U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and NAESB (North American Energy Standards Board)
Complete all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or related field, preferred or at least five years of relevant work experience, required
At least one to three years of related sourcing or purchasing experience (preferred)
Specific experience within any of the following: business administration, contract administration, project management, information technology, finance (preferred)
Previous energy industry experience (preferred)
Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND CAPABILITIES

Knowledge of financial or procurement software
Strong business and system analytical skills
Excellent computer skills and a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Strong Spreadsheet skills, experience with database queries and cost modeling
Ability to conceptualize, negotiate, and communicate innovative concepts or ideas
Adept at learning software
