Avalere Health is seeking a Senior Associate to support its Policy practice. The practice focuses on a range of issues including:

  • Implementation of the Affordable Care Act as well as proposals to repeal/replace the law
  • Medicare reform policies and regulations
  • Medicaid and other state health policies
  • Drug pricing
  • Evolving benefit designs in public and private payers
  • Medicare Advantage and Part D policy and payment, and
  • Federal budget and deficit reduction issues.

We rely on deep subject matter expertise and understanding of the business issues facing our clients to assess how this changing policy landscape impacts the pharmaceutical industry, managed care plans, providers, and consumers. We provide analytic support and advisory services, including legislative strategy, regulatory analysis, and quantitative modeling of proposed and enacted policies to a wide range of clients across the healthcare industry.

  • Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative research on a diverse array of healthcare issues (i.e., key informant interviews, white and grey literature searches, etc.)
  • Working independently and in cross-functional teams to contribute to the development and delivery of projects to clients
  • Drafting written summaries, white papers, and PowerPoint presentations to provide strategic recommendations to clients
  • Translating and communicating policy implications on clients’ business and operational priorities
  • Using content expertise, solid proofreading, and layout skills to build client deliverables
  • Acting with oversight to apply knowledge of research tools and analytical approaches to develop content
  • Assisting in stewarding of project-based accounts
  • Drafting scopes of work and using subject matter expertise to collaborate and bridge work across practices

Skills, Experience, and Other Job Related Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in public policy, public health, public administration, business, statistics, economics, mathematics, or other related fields
  • 1-3 years of prior, relevant full-time work experience
  • A strong interest in and knowledge of healthcare policy and reform
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Sound analytic, problem solving, and quantitative skills
  • Strong customer service in the form of good work product and project-task management experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Demonstrated presentation and public speaking skills
