PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The main responsibilities include curating and analyzing Next-gen Sequencing (NGS) and publicly available genetic data, and supporting the clinical reporting team with variant classification.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Background in genomics, genetics, molecular biology, and biological pathways.
Proficiency in the use of bioinformatics/statistical software (eg. GATK, BCFtools, BLAST, BWA, PLINK, etc), and publicly available genetics databases (eg. ExAC, ESP, ClinVar, GenBank, Ensemble, KEGG, HGMD, OMIM, etc.).
Proficiency with Perl, Python, R, bash, C/C++, java, and/or SQL in Linux/Unix environment.
Strong skills in the application of statistical methods for analysis of genetic data.
Excellent time management as well as oral and written communication skills.
Ability to quickly and effectively operate, communicate and influence decision making within cross-functional and multi-disciplinary clinical genetics team.
Must reside in the United States.

Minimum certifications/educational level:
MS in Bioinformatics, Bio-statistics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistical Genetics or related discipline is required, PhD is a plus.
3-5 years' professional experience in Bioinformatics or related field required
