Our Security Division provides design and implementation of systems into new or existing security infrastructure, including Physical and Logical Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Video Management, and Perimeter Detection. Working as a member of a project team, the Security Technician is primarily responsible for the installation, termination and testing all security devices for access control, intrusion detection, CCTV and enhancing over-all job site productivity. The Security Technician will be responsible for multiple aspects of the cable installation process including pathway construction, rough-in, routing, Security panel build-out, cable terminations, labeling, and grounding.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Installation of security cabling systems including all aspects of the installation process
Reads and interprets all floor plans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets
Properly installs security field devices including but not limited to: card readers, door position switches, request-to-exit devices, ADA switches, cameras, media converters, wireless transmitters, motion sensors and glass breaks.
Properly installs security head-end equipment including but not limited to: panels, enclosures, power supplies, servers, switches, media converters, workstations, and NVR’s.
Performs system testing and troubleshooting as required
Terminates, labels, tests and troubleshoots security cabling, optical fiber and copper installations.
Assisting the project team with installation activities as needed
Proactively maintain job site organization and basic housekeeping. Organize materials, tools, and equipment, collect debris, and ensure hazardous conditions are promptly addressed
Enhance learning about the different materials and methodologies involved with the installation of a security system
Mentor and support Installers as they learn E2 Optics and the business
Maintain satisfactory compliance with customer security requirements
Travel: The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2.
High School Diploma or GED required
Lenel Certification Required
Obtain Fiber Optics Association CPT Certification preferred
Minimum 2 years of work experience in Security or related industry/construction experience.
Lenel Certification Required
Product experience with Lenel, Gallagher, Bosch, Milestone, Avigilon, and others.
Read, write, and understand English
Able to distinguish color codes
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to understand and effectively explain every aspect of security systems including Physical Access Control PACS, Intrusion Detection Systems IDS, Video Management Systems VMS.
This position also requires knowledge of structured cabling systems including pathways, spaces, horizontal cabling, backbone copper, backbone fiber optic, cross- and inter-connections, and testing. This includes understanding applicable codes, standards, and industry-best practices and the ability to differentiate between them and make recommendations.
Ability to choose the correct tool and methodology for a given task for themselves, and can help other team members do the same.
Ability to listen carefully to and follow instructions.

POSITION BONUS ATTRIBUTES:
Obtain company approved (manufacturer) certifications
Obtain BICSI Installer either Level 1 or Level 2 certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may be required to work in tight, confined spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
