Duties: Under the Supervision of Appointment and Referral Supervisor, the Referral Coordinator exchanges information between NEON and hospitals and all consultants. Ensures that required documentation is complete and submitted in a timely manner, receives all referral and follows through to completion of all aspects of scheduling from all NEON sites. Completes all tasks in NextGen EHR, obtains approval for HMO's referral, when needed, faxed referrals to the hospital or consultants office. Notifies patient regarding any special instructions. Send any outside agency forms completed by NEON scanning.
High School graduate or equivalent.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have 1-2 years of experience in referrals, medical or health insurance. Applicants must have working and demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology. Applicants must be able to type 35 wpm and utilize a personal computer. Must have basic computer skills. Applicants must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and have experience with internal, mail or database management programs. Applicants must have the ability to learn and operate NextGen management software applications. Applicants must be knowledge of commercial and government funded health care programs.
