Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Order parts and support to internal mechanics that exceeds a high standard of customer service. An environment in which associates are self-motivated and responsive to the needs of the shop and day to day operations.
- Maintain and implement systems and documentation for inventory control. Establish procedures that assure quality service at optimum inventory levels and turn ratios as agreed upon or defined by management.
- Establish methods for reporting the status of all parts operations to management.
- Maintain continuous contact and positive relationships with shop personnel equipment vendors.
- Receiving shipments.
- Stocking parts shelves.
- Distributing parts to service technicians.
- Completing all paperwork associated with the proper accounting practices.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain positive communications with all company employees
- Develop strong product line knowledge.
- Produce timely parts updates for the service department.
- Take initiative in developing new methods and procedures for the department as required.
Skills Required
- Must demonstrate a high degree of communication and organizational skills to include the ability to apply logic and constructive thinking to solve problems with an emphasis on "Customer Service".
- Provide effective oral and written communications to management and vendors.
- Must be able to perform mathematical calculations, including decimals and percentages.
- Possesses the ability to perform medium duty physical work, including the ability to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and frequently handle loads to 20 pounds.
Education and Work Experience
- At least 1 year, preferred two year’s experience in the Truck & Trailers Parts Field.
- Tanker Trailer Parts a Plus.
- Must be PC computer literate and possess a thorough knowledge of general business procedures, familiar with Maintenance software.
- Has general knowledge of business administration with some degree of mechanical knowledge and experience.
- Ability to learn new tasks.
- Fleet Experience / Environment a Plus / preferred. Dealerships & Fleet are a different environment.
- Purchasing background in this industry a plus.
- Repair Shop Experience a plus, Mechanical Background a plus.
