The NFL is seeking a VP, Brand and Consumer Marketing to lead global marketing programs and execution of league brand and advertising campaigns, youth participation marketing, cause platforms and event marketing support. This person will be charged with being the leader and steward of shaping the expression of the fan experience the NFL brand throughout the season and calendar year across communication touch-points. It is also the VP’s responsibility to drive improved fan perception and engagement to help the league achieve its broader marketing objectives and position the NFL for accelerated long-term growth.
The successful VP will develop and lead a small, effective, and highly collaborative cross-functional team responsible for marketing oversight of in-season NFL brand awareness campaigns including Kickoff, Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, Youth Participation Marketing, Player Health and Innovation, and Cause Marketing initiatives such as My Cause My Cleats, Salute to Service and Inspire Change.
The position not only requires a big-picture thinker and entrepreneurial mindset, but also someone who possesses strong project/program management skills, and adept attention to detail in management in overseeing budgets, timelines and various assets/deliverables.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Run a cross-functional and collaborative process with Research, Fan Strategy, Creative, Consumer Media, and Social Media/Influencer teams to craft effective strategies and integrated plans designed to meet and exceed goals;
Directly responsible for the planning of global strategic marketing and advertising creative, inclusive of short-term and long-term marketing goals in support of fan growth and brand health objectives for the NFL;
Provide strategic leadership, marketing message/vision and planning for key cross-organizational initiatives and brand advertising campaigns;
Oversee the development and deployment of the NFL League “Always On” Marketing Calendar;
Lead marketing and promotional plans working closely with agency partners;
15+ Years of proven success in consumer brand marketing from either a top consumer brand or a leading marketing agency.
Exceptional communication skills (Oral and Written).
Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with senior management. Experience with marketing-related public speaking engagements a plus.
6+ years of team management experience. Demonstrated expertise in building, developing, and coaching a team of marketing professionals.
Superior Leadership Skills; demonstrated ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
A sports fan in general, and more specifically an NFL fan.
Energetic, Flexible, Collaborative.
Youth Marketing and Multicultural Marketing Experience Preferred.
Agency and Brand Experience Preferred.
Strong Strategic Ability, Analytical Skills, and Bias for Action.
BA/BS from top undergraduate university with degree in marketing, communications, or related field; MBA or commensurate preferred.
