The RN, Electrophysiology Lab assists physicians in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Electrophysiology Laboratory. Provides comprehensive electrophysiology services, including diagnostic electrophysiology, 3D mapping, therapeutic ablative procedures (radiofrequency and cryoablation), pacemaker, ICD and CRT rhythm management procedures. Provides professional nursing care to include patient assessment and monitoring, following all applicable policies and procedures. Maintain competence in all Cath Lab procedures. Ability to provide ongoing departmental staff education, evaluation of staff competency related to Electrophysiology modalities and effective patient management. Works in concert with Electrophysiology physicians to provide a full continuum of Electrophysiology options and assists in the evaluation of future modalities .

Minimum Education and Experience:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
BSN/MSN with focus in education.

Two years' experience within the Cardiac Cath/ Electrophysiology Lab, performing interventional, diagnostic, cardiac implants, ablations and electrophysiology procedures.
Five years' experience within the Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology lab, performing cardiac diagnostic, interventional, cardiac implants, ablations and electrophysiology procedures.

Computer/Software Knowledge:
Proficiency with Hemodynamic Monitoring Systems. Must be able to perform electrophysiology/cardiac ablation procedures independently under physician direction.
Proficiency with GE Maclab/ Cardio Lab, stim/pacing and 3D cardiac mapping systems.
Current CPR certification. Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Delaware. Current ACLS certification.
Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
National American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology (NASPE)

Special Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
  • Required to function in a stressful clinical environment working with patients, physicians and other professional staff.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of electrophysiology equipment and devices.
  • Proven ability to work in a high pressure, stressful clinical environment.
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
