The Marketing Manager, East Area will quarterback the creation and execution of an integrated marketing plan, including content, collateral, campaigns, web presence, and other initiatives. With the objective to generate leads, advance live pursuits, and differentiate ENGIE Services U.S., the ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and the B2B business acumen, stellar copywriting capabilities, and professional confidence to work as part of our fast-growing and dynamic business.
Key Job Responsibilities
Creates marketing plans, establishes metrics, and reports out on progress : Quarterbacks the creation of strategic and tactical plans to implement key marketing initiatives as outlined in the Annual Marketing Plan with guidance from Director of Marketing & Growth. Leads cross-functional teams to achieve results from marketing initiatives; measures and tracks progress with clear metrics; engages and gathers feedback from key stakeholders; and creates and shares periodic internal updates to ENGIE teams. Contributes to and facilitates regional and national sales/marketing meetings to increase ENGIE teams’ expertise in key markets and shares fresh marketing materials / programs.
Quarterbacks field marketing support: Creates and manages market and deal-specific messaging, strategy and content for email/direct mail campaigns, and copy for customized collateral and other field outlets (e.g. conferences, tradeshows, events, ads, posters etc.); corporate marketing support as needed (e.g. website). Heads up internal creative process with access to Marketing, Design, and Communications as needed. Act as a sole point of contact/Project Lead with the business partner (e.g. Sales, Leadership).
Tracks industry and market segment trends: Provides insights into the sustainability industry and relevant market segments to better position our offerings, solutions, and programs.
Delivers market analysis and targeting: Lead market segmentation, positioning exercises, and customer targeting.
Supervises full-time and/or part-time, local and remote contractor(s): Deliver results leveraging available resources with potential to build a team in the future.
Main Job Activities
Business Acumen: Demonstrate insight and understanding of sales and marketing as it applies to energy services business (B2B, and secondarily B2C)
Communication Skills: Able to clearly communicate with both internal teams and external organizations; superior listener with strong writing, business reporting, presentation and communication skills
Send monthly emails to all staff about new team members and achievements, customers, market and competitors by coordinating important updates with the leadership team
Competitive Differentiation: Ability to recognize what differentiates ENGIE from competitors in the market, and then effectively communicate this in marketing materials and in interactions with employees and customers
Manage, write and edit all marketing content; including but not limited to sales collateral, press releases, white papers, presentations, and event abstracts
Ethics and Integrity: Consistent, long history of doing the "right" thing particularly in the face of adversity or ambiguity
Work with assigned business leaders to assist in developing annual strategic marketing plan that helps the organization achieve identified business objectives.
Develop and execute targeted marketing programs that drive brand awareness, generate leads, and accelerate sales pipeline opportunities for 20+ direct business development managers.
Build strategic sales, channel and marketing partnerships internally and externally, to influence, motivate, and move the business forward
Manage the planning and flawless production of a variety of tradeshows, special events and communications programs that promote the company brand and products to both internal and external audiences. Exercise control over assigned budget, and ensure events return on investment is within budget expectations.
Identify strategic and tactical publicity plans while managing the external public relations agency to execute media relations, speaking opportunities, article placement, crisis management, developing and distributing news releases, media training, and other similar activities. Most importantly, develop communications content, and strive to make ENGIE Services relevant.
Develop marketing strategies around data analytics and collaborate with sales operations to target customers and identify potential growth market segments.
Manage a Sales Enablement specialist
Carefully prioritize and manage the marketing plan against the multiple demands across the business
Assist with Voice of Customer value proposition, customer buying journey, customer/supplier persona, and behavioral market segmentation activities.
Learning and Development: Demonstrated track record of developing and applying new skills and knowledge; innate curiosity applied to understanding customers and how our business can help them
Project Management: Strong problem solving, time management, organizational and resource management skills with attention to detail and ability to advance projects and meet deadline s
Track marketing funnel leads to ensure they are accurately progressing to ensure marketing qualified leads (MQLs) are routed to sales and processed in a timely manner
Relationship Adeptness: Able to interact positively and effectively with diverse internal stakeholder groups including Senior Leaders, Sales, Marketing, Communications, HR, Operations, and Legal team across multiple states and market segments; gather internal knowledge, implement streamlined processes, build organizational capacity
Content Development: Independently lead and create customer-focused copywriting in the context of the business and marketing goals; work collaboratively within the Marketing function, and externally with Sales, Ops, and other Support teams
5-7 years of relevant B2B energy marketing
B2B Marketing expert with experience at omni-channel marketing to a broad range of market segments
Self-directed doer who can make things happen that otherwise wouldn’t
Demonstrated expertise in the energy, A&E, professional services, and/or sustainability companies
Excellent copywriting capability, including written and verbal communication skills
Able to work collaboratively with diverse, multi-location, and geographical teams and partner successfully with Sales management and Sales enablement teams
Track record of success project managing and owning sales/marketing initiatives to achieve quantitative performance metrics
Excellent time management, decision-making, interpersonal, presentation, organizational and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated thought leadership, intellectual rigor and curiosity
Superior PowerPoint and presentation development skills
Ability to meet short deadlines in fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Strong team player who is passionate, quality driven, technology savvy and self-motivated
Demonstrated track record of excellence in B2B event marketing and tradeshows
Quick learner and application of feedback
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing (technical or otherwise), Journalism, English, Business or relevant energy field
Managerial experience implementing integrated marketing plan and field marketing initiatives
Experience at an energy services company, renewable energy company, or in the sustainability industry
Graphic design skills (e.g. InDesign)
Advanced knowledge and use of social media channels
