Position Description:
The Director, Human Resources is a senior position within the HR team and is expected to collaborate with TechnoServe’s leadership and staff to create, develop, support and manage HR initiatives and activities that are critical to the success of TechnoServe’s strategic people priority. This role will assess, standardize, and improve existing HR policies and procedures, including ongoing support and capacity building of local HR staff. This role must combine a sense of the big picture with hands-on implementation skills and global HR generalist expertise.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:
Effectively lead recruitment function to meet current and anticipated staffing needs using systems and tools to maximize efficiency
Implement best practices and ensure organizational representation and candidate experience levels are consistently high quality
Manage stakeholder relationships at all levels to align talent acquisition with corporate and global priorities and goal
Provide oversight and accountability for Federal contractor compliance requirements, including those related to training, outreach, testing and reporting
Ensure an engaging recruiting and onboarding experience, and an efficient and effective orientation on the first day of employment
Manage compensation to ensure all salary structures are regularly updated using a data-based approach to reflect competitive, market-based pay
Advise pay levels for new hires, promotions and other changes, in alignment with existing salary structures and compensation administration guidelines
Ensures a competitive total compensation program is in place and evaluated periodically to ensure Equal Pay Act compliance. Evaluates each job position for internal equity and area/market competitiveness
Assumes corporate responsibility for development of company guidelines, policies and procedures
Develops and oversees implementation of HR-related policies in compliance with Federal and State laws. Remains current on any changes in any employment laws. Communicates with employees regarding any changes that impact them
Ensures compliance with State and Federal employment laws pertaining to all personnel matters
Administers classification programs, which includes classifying and reclassifying positions as necessary to ensure compliance with FLSA
Manages employee relations in the US office
Any other projects as assigned
Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of human resources experience, or graduate degree with at least 7 years of similar experience
Current HRCI or SHRM senior-level certifications
At least 10 years of professional experience in a HR leadership role with similar organizations with at least 7 years of experience in roles with management responsibilities
Management experience, including commitment to provide ongoing feedback and knowledge sharing to contribute to the professional growth of direct reports
Global mindset with multicultural awareness and sensitivity
Demonstrated knowledge of all HR disciplines, including global HR operations
Excellent communication skills in English, including written, verbal and facilitation
Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish goals within set periods
Critical thinking, active listening and analytical skills
Ability to frame challenges and propose solutions within context and constraints
Skilled collaborator, navigator and influencer
Fluent and literate Spanish, French or Portuguese a plus
