Seemann Composites, LLC was founded on its research and development innovation with composite fabrication processes and revolutionized the composites industry with the invention of SCRIMP, Seemann Composites Resin Infusion Molding Process. Patented thirty-two (32) years ago, SCRIMP continues to be the manufacturing approach for a large assortment of customer-focused products developed by our team. Seemann Composites is recognized as a world leader in composites manufacturing, providing state of the art composite and polymer solutions and technologies. As a Critical Supplier to the United States Navy’s Industrial Base, Seemann Composites develops and manufactures specialized products in support of the submarine fleets and amphibious programs, in new construction and fleet maintenance. Our engineers participate in product development from beginning to delivery, in a truly unique multifaceted workplace environment. Seemann Composites is AS9100 Quality System certified.
Engineers at Seemann Composites have the latitude to work in resource focused groups and product teams. Our Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), typically include Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Logistics and Production.

Seemann Composites has openings for intermediate and senior level Project Engineers at our facility in Gulfport, MS. The work will include interfacing with other engineers and IPT members toward accomplishing the project objectives. Some travel may be required.

Typical duties of our Engineers that choose to work in the resource focused groups include product development, tooling development and manufacturing support, with an emphasis in CAD/CAM. The primary CAD tool is SolidWorks for both modeling and drawing development; experience with this software tool is certainly a plus. NX is our preferred software for CNC CAD/CAM model development. We also use this tool for design and tooling development.

Engineers that choose to work on the product teams include coordination of team members to ensure product requirements are being met while products are being fabricated and remain on schedule for delivery. This typically involves interfacing with the customer, good task management, communication skills, and technical writing. Senior Project Engineers are expected to mentor younger engineers, participate in product reviews, develop proposals for new products, and give presentations to upper management and customers.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Composites, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Chemical, Aerospace, or other related engineering degree, such as Naval Architecture
Experience with composite materials and fabrication of composite structures
7 or more years of experience in engineering
Good oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Proficient with 3D modeling and 2D drawings

Due to the nature of our work, United States Citizenship, is required.
Monitor contract/spec compliance dictated by scope of work.
Conduct planning & design meetings with internal staff & customer
Directs the activities of the project from start to finish; coordinating with engineering, production, logistics, quality, and management.

Essential Physical Requirement:

Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, you will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, stretching, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate.

You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms. Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty. Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends. At times, the ability to work overtime also may be required but it is not usual.
