Full Job Description

Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience, starting at $85,000 - $100,000 per year
SUMMARY
Directs and coordinates activities of Engineering department under the guidance from Engineering Manager on small and capital projects. Coordinates activities involved with preliminary design and procuring equipment and services such as pumps, piping, heat exchangers, valves and other heat and mass transfer devices, process control equipment, communicating with consultants and contractors while performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plans engineering projects, establishing priorities and sequences for supporting manufacturing products.
Prepares project schedules and coordinates construction activities to ensure jobs meet specifications.
Promote and ensure compliance with Amfine/ADK Safety, Quality and Environmental Programs.
Reviews project and construction reports and resolves problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent commissioning delays.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes its implementation to ensure compliance with standards.
Resolves departmental staff complaints or submits unsettled complaints to Engineering Manager for action.
Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.
Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
Maintains procurement records such as equipment or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories as and when needed.
Discusses defective or unacceptable items or services with maintenance or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
Approves invoices for payment.
Plans, budgets, and schedules facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets and layouts.
Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to support continuous production operations.
Supports activities of fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
Plans, develops, and implements new Process Control methods involving DCS, PLC, etc. and their advanced methods including AI/IoT/IIoT.
Reviews suggestions to implement new production plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers.
Reviews suggestions to implement Wastewater Treatment plans and methods and develops system to accommodate new production plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers.
Plans, develops and implements testing methods in accordance with Department of Air Quality requirements, supplies data in reports, consults with experts as and when required.
Provides engineering support to SH&E Manager in preparing applications for permits
Confers with management, production, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Chemical Engineering from four-year college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training, with demonstrated engineering knowledge, positive project management results, and overall leadership ability. Ability to manage multiple projects/multi-task in a fluid environment.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to speak fluent English.
Working Knowledge of ISO 9000 & 14000.
Working knowledge of OSHA & EPA Regulations.
The ability to get along with others.
The ability to concentrate for extended periods.
Must be able to travel 15% of time.
Possess a current driver’s license.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project
Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
