Summary:
The Heat Treat Technician will be responsible to lead the maintenance and repair process for our Rochester New York Heat Treat department. This position will be responsible for the repairs, preventative maintenance and furnace control calibrations. There is a requirement for an overlap of experience with other maintenance disciplines (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mill wright) based on business needs, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities:

Perform preventative maintenance and repair services for manufacturing production furnaces throughout the facility, including electrical panels (control panels), plumbing, and refractory furnace maintenance
Troubleshoot problems with furnaces when needed as well as perform emergency repairs
Read and interpret electrical or Mechanical schematics/ diagrams
Use blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery
Perform routine maintenance on various manufacturing equipment
Use Fork truck equipment or scissor lifts for repairs and installations
Possess a thorough understanding of combustion theory and application of concepts during industrial furnace troubleshooting and repair to maintain thermal furnace characteristics and operational efficiency
Strong interpretation skills with regard to technical drawings
Previous work experience on a Maintenance team
Previous experience ordering repair parts
Millwright – ability to safely dismantle, reassemble, and move machinery in plant
Proven experience maintaining equipment and/or systems in a manufacturing environment
Understanding of safety and OSHA requirements in a manufacturing environment
Ability to communicate across departments
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship or relocation expenses is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required
Welding certifications
