Full Job Description

Topweb, LLC is a locally and privately-owned commercial printing company that has served its customers for over 50 years. We specialize in both offset and digital printing technologies and support our customers with select finishing services. Our customer base includes community, school, and ethnic newspapers, but we also work closely with clients in public relations, convention/event planning, and the fine arts. Our offices are in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, within walking distance to multiple public transportation options.

Responsibilities:

A strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including both an ability to apply those principles to react to business events as well as anticipating the impact of potential or future events.
Responsible for the design and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting. Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions as appropriate.
Initiate and present annual financial budget. Solicit input and require participation from all stakeholders.
Complete period-end financial reporting packet including financial statements and supporting schedules. Understand period-end variances vs. plan and pro-actively identify alternatives to remediate or minimize adverse impacts to future accounting periods.
Manage and execute a timely and efficient year-end close process. Identify and record non-routine or unique transactions in advance of the urgency of year-end close. Prepare year end supporting workpapers for the Corporate CFO.
Participate/lead the annual (ongoing) capital planning process. Solicit feedback of all key stakeholders to prioritize requirements. Identify alternatives and complete ROI analyses to support recommendations.
Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and/or effectiveness of production and operations. Understand key cost drivers and identify opportunities to control costs.
Responsible for treasury management functions including monitoring cash flows and cash balance; focus on minimizing cash conversion cycle.
Manage key vendor relationships to ensure our costs for goods and services are competitive and are supporting both organizational and financial goals.
Oversee and manage routine business processes including (but not limited to) sales and invoicing, cash collections, vendor invoicing, cash disbursements, payroll time reporting.
Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules for book and tax, reconciling depreciation expense and forecasting book/tax differences for tax planning.
Responsible for timely and accurate submission of bi-weekly payroll to third-party payroll service provider. Understand quarterly payroll tax filings and ensure that the third-party payroll service is filing federal and state reporting requirements timely and accurately. Reconcile payroll reports to the general ledger.
Responsible for monthly State of Illinois ST-1 sales tax reporting.

Qualifications:

Full-time role, working onsite, Monday thru Friday.
5+ years of relevant experience.
2 years of experience supervising staff.
3 years GAAP experience preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance.
CPA designation is desired (inactive license is acceptable).
Prior experience in public accounting is highly preferred.
Knowledge of small business income taxes.
Prior experience in the printing industry or a manufacturing environment desired.
The successful candidate will possess outstanding communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to interact with internal and external clients is critical.
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook). Proficient use of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and complex formulas is essential.
Advantageous though not required to have experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, Paylocity), and Microsoft Power BI.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation is based on experience and skillset. Medical, dental, and vision, life insurance, disability benefits and 401(k).
