About Canon Nanotechnologies Inc.

In April 2014, Canon completed the acquisition of Molecular Imprints’ semiconductor business. The business has been renamed Canon Nanotechnologies. Canon Nanotechnologies (CNT), together with Canon, is the market and technology leader for high-resolution, low cost-of-ownership nanoimprint lithography systems and solutions for the semiconductor industry. CNT also acts as an innovation center for Canon and looks to apply its expertise to identify and establish new products and processes designed to expand Canon’s market share. We are located in Austin, TX.

Position Summary

This Technical Marketing position will be responsible for supporting both Canon Nanotechnologies Inc. and Canon in the identification of markets and business areas to enhance the company’s market share. The position requires a solid understanding of the semiconductor market and processes and tools that can be applied to enhance Canon’s market share. Candidates will be responsible for interacting with both the business and technical teams and develop strategies that will help Canon expand its business opportunities. The position also requires excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with Canon’s partners and customers.

Essential Functions

· Technical market analysis in the areas of lithography, advanced packaging and optical components with the aim of starting new businesses, developing new products, improving market share.

· Business plan generation based on market analysis, understanding of Canon core technologies, cost of ownership and customer requirements.

· Ability to work with Senior Management of Canon Inc. and Canon Nanotechnologies to build consensus for business plans aimed at:

o New products

o New markets for existing products

o Adaption of current products to existing or new markets to gain market share.

· Ability to work with customers to understand their technology and product roadmaps and introduce new products.

· Support customer management for initial product launches

· Support and develop relationships with strategic partner companies.

Qualifications

Education

· PhD or master’s in engineering or science with 15 or more years of experience in the semiconductor or related field.

Experience

· Business plan generation and cost of ownership analysis

· Strong knowledge of the semiconductor industry in particular lithography

· Ability to learn Canon and in particular Canon Nanotechnologies core technologies and products.

· Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills

· Attend and present papers at conferences.

· Willing to be a committee chair at conferences in the areas of semiconductor technology, advanced packaging, or optical components.

· Support company workshops

· Position reports to the CEO of Canon Nanotechnologies

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Position requires continuous physical effort; intermittent and long-term work cycles; standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motion, and lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted. Lifting more than 25 lbs requires additional help. Employee may be required to work at a computer terminal for long periods of time. Employee will be able to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone. Position requires effective communication skills, verbal and written form. Mental alertness is a must. Employee may be exposed to atmospheric conditions, such as: dust, fumes, noise and varying temperatures. Employee is required to demonstrate continued knowledge of Haz/Com regulations and requirements. Must be able to work in a cleanroom environment, this includes wearing protective clothing. Domestic and International travel may be required.
