As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of autonomous vehicles by developing and optimizing our simulation infrastructure.

Lead the creation of a sophisticated simulation pipeline that enables rapid iteration and validation of AD software, ensuring the highest levels of safety and performance.

Integrate simulated scenarios and logged data replay into various closed-loop test environments, such as Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop systems, to enhance our testing capabilities.

Implement automation techniques to scale the simulation infrastructure, enabling parameter sweeps and identification of critical scenarios for system robustness.

Drive verification and validation efforts by establishing efficient data pipelines and conducting in-depth analysis to track key performance metrics across software releases.

Collaborate closely with a diverse team of talented engineers and testers, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or computer engineering

Posses 3+ years of work experience, showcasing your ability to tackle complex challenges.

Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and/or Python, with a proven track record of applying them effectively in automotive simulation, modeling, or related fields.

Ideally, you possess 3+ years of work experience, showcasing your ability to tackle complex challenges. Alternatively, or a Ph.D. in a relevant field would be considered.

Efficient use of Linux scripting and automation capabilities to streamline workflows.

Knowledge of descriptive interfaces like XML and YAML to enhance data representation and interchangeability.

Background in sensor and actuator modeling, further enhancing the realism and accuracy of our simulations.

Experience with real-time performance optimization, both in single and multi-threaded programming environments, to ensure optimal software performance.

Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics or a willingness to learn about this crucial aspect of autonomous driving.

Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal and Unity or automotive simulators like VTD or CarMaker, providing additional insights into simulation technologies.

Previous industry experience in writing C++ programs or working on/developing simulators, enabling you to hit the ground running in our challenging projects.
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
- California (Bay Area) - $127,000 - $165,000
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
