WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Program Manager, Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) is part of the Global PFP team within Global Protect Oceans, Lands, and Waters program and will report to the Global Director, PFP. The Program Manager is responsible for internal coordination and strategy management of TNC’s efforts on its portfolio of PFPs, as part of the broader Enduring Earth Partnership. As servant collaborative leaders, the Global PFP team supports both internal and external partners in accelerating the deliberate design and implementation of comprehensive and collaborative PFPs across all three realms, that deliver on TNC's protection, climate, and human wellbeing goals.

The PFP Program Manager will partner with global, regional and functional teams across the organization to facilitate strategy delivery by managing budgets, process coordination, internal communications, knowledge management and reporting for the strategy. They will manage to ensure integration across the portfolio of PFPs and ensure the effective deployment of common core capacities. They will build and enable a positive, collaborative team and an inclusive approach to advance PFPs, by supporting on-the-ground teams and ensuring that the principles and values of the PFP partnership and those of TNC are adhered to. They advise the Global Director on issues that should be more effectively and efficiently coordinated across the PFP portfolio.

The location for this position is flexible within countries where The Nature Conservancy is a registered NGO, and has an already established office, and requires working significantly within U.S. business hours. This position is not eligible for relocation or immigration assistance. This position may require travel of up to 25% or more.

By joining our team, you will become part of a group that is a force to be reckoned with; a force for nature, a force for people, and a force for our planet. The Program Manager supports global strategy delivery by managing budgets, workplans, knowledge management, strategy reporting and internal communications for the Global PFP strategy. They will oversee a small team of staff and work closely with staff from the TNC’s Global Protect, NatureVest, Global Science, External Affairs, and TNC’s regional and country conservation programs to support coordination and implementation among PFP projects. They will support the development, tracking and triangulation among TNC teams of complex workplans, budgets and contribute to reporting to donors or TNC leadership. They serve as a key informational contact between the Global PFP team and other TNC staff, as well as external actors, including funders, government agencies, NGOs and other groups as applicable. They will support the development and implementation of a comprehensive internal communication plan that promotes individual PFPs as a cohesive body of work and supports PFP/Enduring Earth as a priority conservation strategy within TNC, and communicates the intersections of PFPs with other critical bodies of work in line with our organizational 2030 goals.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Bachelor’s degree in political science, finance, economics, public policy, international relations, international development, social science, natural science, ecology or related field and at least 5 years related experience, or equivalent combination.
Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including managing finances and coordinating the work of other professionals and partners.
Experience managing budgets and workplans, critical analysis, and evaluating information from divergent sources and compiling it into cohesive reports.
Experience presenting to and/or communicating with government or legislative staff, community or business leaders, program leadership and/or similar audiences.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
Critical analytical thinking and excellent English writing skills are essential.
Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives, and managing performance.
Proven ability to influence without authority.
Self-starter with the ability to generate work plans with limited support in line with the overall Global PFP outcomes, goals, strategies, and plans.
Experience developing business plans or major strategy assessments.
Knowledge of politics and society with respect to environmental and international affairs.
Willingness to learn and develop expertise in new conservation strategies, economic drivers, management tools, and global affairs.
Strong team player who can build relationships and work collaboratively across the organization, including with senior management, and with Conservancy partners.
Demonstrated leadership and visionary qualities, ability to work effectively with and through others, and drive toward results in a decentralized, highly matrixed, and geographically dispersed organization.
Experience developing end products with software such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, cloud, and web-based tools including Smartsheets, SharePoint, WebEx/conferencing software, Skype, Google Hangouts, and Box or other similar tools.
Ability to write and speak in a language other than English, such as Spanish, Portuguese, or French highly desirable.

SALARY INFORMATION

This position may be based in any country where TNC has an established entity, taking into consideration legal restrictions, such as non-national ratios and immigration processing times.

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $75,000 – $112,500 or annual base salary in the United States. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the United States.

Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate’s location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the United States would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to the above pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment and used to determine your actual salary range.
