The Assistant Mail Center Coordinator is a part-time position, working 25 hours per week in the University's Mail Center to work in cooperation and under the supervision of the
Mail Center Coordinator, at Delaware Valley University to receive, scan in, sort, distribute and oversee delivery of mail and packages received for faculty, staff and students and
to provide United States Postal Service services for faculty, staff, students and the public.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Serves as backup to the Coordinator, Mail Center when the Coordinator is out of the office or otherwise unavailable to insure the continuation of all Mail Center operations
2. Sorts, distributes and handles incoming and outgoing mail and packages from the USPS, UPS, FedEx, Amazon and others, as well as applying necessary postage to mail pieces
3. Operates and oversees the operation of mail processing equipment and package scanning devices
4. Provides customer service, answers questions regarding status or feasibility of mailing operations; sells postage
5. Serves as backup for maintaining records for management reports and inventories of supplies needed; calculates charges for jobs performed and maintaining billing logs
6. Performs daily morning and afternoon campus mail and package delivery runs when student Mail Center workers are not available
7. Maintains daily meter and service logs
8. Drives the Mail Center vehicle between buildings on daily runs
9. Performs filing duties under the direction of the Coordinator, including ‘purging’ and archiving old documents
10. Oversees student workers, as needed
11. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Working Conditions and Frequently Used Tools:

Uses of postage meter, scanning device hardware (iPad), laptop computer, copier equipment

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated competency in basic computer skills including proficiency in MS Office Suite

Ability to accurately calculate postage pricing and make change

Required Education, Experience and License:

Requires high school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience

Some related USPS experience is preferred

One (1) year of customer service preferred

Clean driving record and able to pass a safe driver background check
This position is not eligible for benefits.
The selected applicant will be responsible for providing the university with a Pennsylvania State Police Clearance that's not older than 5 years, pass a Motor Vehicle history check and pass a physical and lift exam.
