General Description
The Admin Assistant/Tech Support is responsible for maintaining a smooth and efficient office environment by performing essential office duties and assisting employees with their day-to-day needs, including technical assistance that requires troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues, running errands, and delivering correspondence and packages. The Admin Assistant/Tech Support supports the overall operations of the office and ensures all necessary supplies and equipment are available and functioning properly.
Essential Duties
- Assist with general administrative tasks, including photocopying, scanning, filing, and mailing documents.
- Run errands as needed, such as picking up orders and delivering mail, packages, and office supplies.
- Assist in delivering the inventory of office supplies and communicate when necessary to reorder items, including restocking all department printers.
- Set up conference rooms and/or offices, including arranging and assembling furniture and preparing equipment.
- Ensure office equipment, such as printers, copiers, and fax machines, are functioning properly and troubleshoot any issues.
- Manage the runner’s calendar, ensure all inquiries are delivered on time, and maintain the calendar current.
- Respond to and resolve technical issues reported by employees (hardware, software, network, etc.).
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot office equipment such as computers, printers, and peripherals.
- Assist with software installations and updates, including office applications and productivity tools.
- Maintain and manage IT inventory, including hardware and accessories.
- Provide remote support via phone, email, or chat.
- Document and track support requests and solutions in the helpdesk system.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
- Assist with basic network troubleshooting and setup
- Assist with front office duties and welcome visitors and clients upon their arrival.
- Assist with coordinating office events and activities, such as training or company celebrations.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to support any additional office-related tasks or projects as assigned.
- Provide excellent customer service to MHI partners, employees, vendors, and clients.
- Compliance with MHI policies and department procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- One (1) year of experience in a similar role preferred.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Strong communication skills.
- A+ Comptia Certification prefered but not required.
- Prior experience in tech support or IT is a plus but not required.
- Basic understanding of computer systems, hardware, and software.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Outlook.
- Willing to become familiar with business practices and the company’s goals.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and multitask.
- Exceptional time management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic knowledge of office equipment handling and maintenance.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitive information, requiring discretion and adherence to privacy protocols.

- Supervision Received: Business Partners and General Manager.
- Supervision Given: This position does not oversee the work of others.
Physical Demands
- Moving objects may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or applying a small amount of force up to 25 pounds occasionally or regularly.
- Bending the body downward and forward or bending the leg and spine at the waist.
- Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand.
- Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the distinction in sound.
- Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. Substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
- Ability to make rational decisions.
- Sitting and possibly standing, particularly for prolonged periods.
- Mobility to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work area to another.
Working Conditions
This position operates in a professional office setting, utilizing a computer and office equipment. Frequent lifting and carrying of office supplies or packages is required. Frequent travel is required to run errands.
