Bookkeeper / QuickBooks Online Specialist

Company: GoodWorks Entertainment – a fast-growing independent live entertainment and music festival company

Location: Hartford, CT. Remote candidates considered

Compensation: $25 - $30/hour

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper specializing in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the financial records for multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely bookkeeping.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including paying and entering bills, reconciling statements, and recording sales invoices and deposits

· Manage bi-weekly and weekly tasks such as matching bank transactions, recording payroll, and event revenue (ticket sales, bar sales, miscellaneous event income) and expense

· Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, petty cash, and various financial reports

· Prepare and send monthly financial reports to management including expense and income reconciliation and tracking reports

· Handle quarterly and annual tasks including tax-related reporting and preparation of financial statements

Required Qualifications:

· Proven experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO)

· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

· Familiarity with POS systems like Toast and Square

· Understanding of payroll processing and sales tax calculations

· Excellent communication skills for interacting with management and vendors

Preferred Qualifications:

· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

· Experience in the entertainment or event management industry

· Knowledge of Connecticut tax regulations, particularly Entertainers Tax
