Full-Time Lab technician/Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Carthage, MO 64836

Day Shift | In-Person | Tuesday-Saturday Shift

We are seeking a Full-Time MLT/MT to perform moderate- and high-complexity testing in our clinical laboratory and urine toxicology laboratory in accordance with CLIA regulations.

Minimum Qualifications (CLIA High-Complexity Personnel Requirements)
Candidate must meet CLIA high-complexity testing personnel requirements, including:
Associate’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science and appropriate laboratory training/experience, OR
Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science, OR
Meet equivalent education and training requirements as defined under 42 CFR §493.1489
Eligible to work in the United States
Ability to commute to Carthage, MO
Certification (ASCP or equivalent) preferred but not required unless otherwise mandated by state regulations.

Position Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Laboratory Director and/or Technical Supervisor, the MLT/MT will:
Testing & Result Reporting
Perform moderate- and high-complexity testing
Validate, review, and report results of in-house testing and tests referred to reference laboratories
Enter, verify, and validate laboratory results in LIS
File and maintain laboratory records
Quality Control & Compliance
Perform and document quality control procedures according to established policies
Evaluate QC data and identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting
Recognize instrument malfunction and out-of-control results; initiate corrective action and document resolution
Calibrate, standardize, and perform preventive maintenance on instruments per manufacturer and laboratory procedures
Prepare reagents, standards, calibrators, and controls according to written protocols
Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety regulations
Specimen Handling
Ensure proper specimen identification, processing, transport, and storage
Assure adequate supplies for tests sent to reference laboratories
Communication & Collaboration
Report technical, procedural, or compliance concerns to the Laboratory Supervisor
Perform other duties as assigned to support laboratory operations

Preferred Qualifications
1+ year of clinical laboratory experience
Experience in high-complexity toxicology testing
Experience with hematology analyzers, chemistry systems, and immunoassay platforms
