Full Job Description

Senior Business Analyst

Experience within the utility, energy, or power systems industry is highly preferred; however, candidates with strong Business Analysis experience and a CCBA certification will also be considered.

Location: New York, NY- LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY- MUST DO ONSITE INTERVIEW
Duration: 12+ Month Contract

100% onsite -M-F

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to identify business needs, gather requirements, and support the delivery of effective technology solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, document, and manage business, functional, and technical requirements.
Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and meetings to understand business objectives and priorities.
Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.
Develop and maintain business requirements documents, user stories, process flows, use cases, gap analyses, and test scenarios.
Translate business needs into detailed requirements for development and implementation teams.
Support system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect tracking, and solution validation.
Manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle and support change management activities.
Collaborate with project managers, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Support initiatives involving operational workflows, asset management, outage management, system integrations, and related business processes.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role.
Strong experience gathering and documenting business requirements across cross-functional teams.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills.
Experience with process mapping, gap analysis, workflow documentation, and solution validation.
Proficiency with requirements management tools, workflow diagrams, and user story development.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience within the utility, energy, power systems, transmission, distribution, outage management, or asset management industries.
CCBA (Certification of Capability in Business Analysis) certification or progress toward certification.
Experience working in Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project environments.
Experience supporting enterprise applications, reporting solutions, system integrations, and workflow optimization initiatives.
Knowledge of testing methodologies, change management, and production support processes.
