Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Machine Software Integration Engineer to lead and execute full machine-level software integration activities. This role focuses on integrating complex software systems across autonomous, electric drive, steering, and implement subsystems, rather than developing new application features.
The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience integrating embedded software across multiple machine subsystems and ensuring seamless interaction between autonomy interfaces, electric drive systems, and core machine controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead machine-level software integration across multiple subsystems, ensuring reliable and performant end-to-end behavior.
- Integrate autonomy software interfaces into machine platforms, working closely with autonomy, controls, and systems teams.
- Integrate electric drive systems, focusing on software interfaces, communication, and system-level behavior (not hardware or motor design).
- Integrate steering systems, implements, and other machine subsystems into the overall machine software architecture.
- Work across embedded platforms to ensure correct interaction between AUTOSAR-based components, control models, and application software.
- Support system bring-up, integration testing, and issue resolution at the machine level.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including controls, electrical, autonomy, and validation teams to resolve integration challenges.
- Analyze and debug complex integration issues spanning software layers, communication interfaces, and machine subsystems.
Required Technical Skills
Primary Skills (Required):
- Strong experience with AUTOSAR (Classic and/or Adaptive)
- Model-Based Design / Modeling (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent)
- Proficient C/C++ programming for embedded systems
- Proven machine-level software integration expertise
- Strong understanding of how software integrates across:
- Autonomous systems
- Electric drive systems
- Steering systems and machine implements
Core Competencies:
- Embedded software integration and debugging
- Cross-subsystem interface definition and validation
- Strong system-level thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work across hardware, controls, and software boundaries
Experience & Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience in embedded software engineering with a strong focus on system or machine-level integration
- Demonstrated experience integrating complex embedded systems rather than purely developing application features
- Experience working in automotive, off-highway, industrial, or autonomous machine environments is highly preferred
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Nice to Have (Preferred)
- Experience integrating software on large, complex machines or vehicles
- Exposure to autonomy platforms, drive-by-wire systems, or electrified powertrains
- Familiarity with system validation, HIL/SIL testing, or machine bring-up activities
- Experience working in cross-functional, multi-discipline engineering teams
Why This Role
- High-impact role working on full machine software integration
- Opportunity to work at the intersection of autonomy, electrification, and embedded systems
- Ideal for senior engineers who enjoy system-level ownership and complex integration challenges
