About the Role: Compliance Manager

PharmaLabs is looking to hire a strong Compliance Manager to join our team located in Saint Petersburg, FL. A Florida pharmacy technician license is required. Join us and learn how we use cutting-edge resources to incorporate technology to serve our community.

As the Compliance Manager at PharmaLabs, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all operations comply with regulatory standards and internal policies. You will be responsible for overseeing compliance-related activities, managing audits, and maintaining up-to-date records and procedures. Your role involves interaction with various regulatory bodies, coordination of training and certifications, and ensuring that PharmaLabs adheres to all applicable laws and standards.

Responsibilities:

Compliance Audits & Inspections:

Conduct unscheduled audits of PharmaLabs' procedures and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Perform observations of compounding personnel to ensure adherence to established procedures.
Oversee team member licensing with the Florida Board of Pharmacy, including technicians and pharmacists.
Manage the scheduling and coordination of hazardous waste pick-ups and clean hazardous spills, as needed.
Ensure compliance with Pharmacy inspections from the Florida Board of Pharmacy, California Board of Pharmacy, and VPP, including gathering preliminary paperwork and responding to corrective actions.

Documentation & Reporting:

Review and file batch logs of compounded preparations.
Compile and scan Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for all products and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Report to Boards of Pharmacies and the FDA regarding Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs), including investigation, follow-up with patients, and drafting written responses.
Assist in drafting patient advisory leaflets and monographs for new products.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure PharmaLabs' compliance with USP updates with formula creation is completed accordance to current 795/797/800 guidelines
Manage state license renewals and updates for all states where PharmaLabs is licensed, including new state license applications.
Maintain and update over 100 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and oversee their compliance.

Training & Competency:

Schedule and oversee aseptic competency media fills for technicians and pharmacists.
Coordinate annual training and competencies for all employees, including HD, HIPAA, and FWA.
Ensure compliance with all training requirements and deadlines.

Environmental Monitoring & Equipment Calibration:

Schedule and oversee calibration of all equipment, including cleanroom certifications and environmental monitoring equipment.
Act as the point of contact for building maintenance issues, including obtaining quotes and follow-ups.

Compliance Systems Management:

Manage Pestle compliance software tasks and follow up with non-compliant individuals.
Monitor and respond to out-of-specification readings from the Rees continuous monitoring system, including investigations and remediation plans.

Miscellaneous:

Stay current with changes in pharmacy practice and law by reading regulatory newsletters.
Assist with PDMP and day-to-day compliance issues.
Perform miscellaneous projects and research as needed, and occasionally assist in other areas such as filling, data entry, and visual inspection.

Weekly/Monthly Duties:

Conduct cleanroom suite walkthroughs and oversee environmental monitoring.
Manage OIG Exclusion list updates if needed and perform CQI Logging Audits.
Review and interpret environmental monitoring samples and manage any required investigations.

Requirements:

Education: Florida Pharmacy Technician license. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., Certified Compliance Professional/Sterile Certification) is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance role within a pharmacy or pharmaceutical setting, including experience with hazardous drugs and environmental monitoring.

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of FDA regulations, USP standards, and state pharmacy laws. Familiarity with compliance software and systems.

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Google Sheets and Google Drive.

Certifications: Valid Florida pharmacy or pharmacy technician license and any additional relevant certifications.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
