We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and support technology solutions that improve operational efficiency across our healthcare and home care organization.
This role will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities for automation, systems integration, workflow optimization, and technology innovation. The successful candidate will help design, build, and support scalable technology solutions that improve operational efficiency, data accessibility, and user experience across the business.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable meeting with stakeholders to understand business challenges, designing technical solutions, writing production-quality code, integrating third-party platforms, and evaluating emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence and automation solutions—to solve real business problems.
This position is highly autonomous and ideal for an engineer who enjoys building solutions from concept through deployment while helping shape the organization's long-term technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Software Engineering & Application Development
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain internal web applications, portals, forms, APIs, automation services, and supporting infrastructure.
- Write clean, maintainable, secure, and well-documented code using modern software engineering practices.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including discovery, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Develop scalable solutions that support operational, clinical, compliance, billing, recruiting, and administrative workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and performance issues.
Systems Integration & Automation
- Design and implement integrations between internal and third-party systems using APIs, web services, middleware, and automation frameworks.
- Develop solutions that reduce manual processes, improve data accuracy, and streamline operational workflows.
- Build and maintain secure data exchange processes between healthcare, CRM, communication, document management, and reporting platforms.
- Evaluate integration opportunities and recommend scalable architectural approaches.
Innovation & Emerging Technologies
- Research, evaluate, prototype, and implement emerging technologies that improve business operations and user experience.
- Identify opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence, intelligent automation, workflow orchestration, and modern development frameworks where appropriate.
- Develop proof-of-concept solutions to validate technical feasibility and business value.
- Stay current with industry trends, development tools, cloud technologies, and AI advancements.
Data & Reporting Infrastructure
- Support the development and integration of data pipelines, data warehouses, and reporting platforms.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to ensure systems and integrations support accurate reporting and business intelligence initiatives.
- Design and optimize data structures, APIs, and integrations that improve data accessibility and consistency across systems.
Architecture, Security & Compliance
- Recommend technology platforms, frameworks, and architectural approaches aligned with business requirements.
- Ensure applications and integrations follow security best practices and healthcare privacy requirements.
- Implement secure coding standards, authentication, authorization, encryption, auditing, and monitoring practices.
- Maintain documentation for applications, integrations, and technical processes.
Vendor & Solution Evaluation
- Evaluate third-party platforms, products, APIs, and vendor-proposed solutions.
- Assist leadership in determining whether solutions should be developed internally, purchased, or integrated from external vendors.
- Review vendor architecture, technical documentation, and implementation approaches.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight for externally developed solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of progressive software engineering experience with demonstrated success delivering production applications, integrations, and technical solutions.
- Experience with cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience designing and developing modern web applications utilizing front-end technologies and frameworks such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Angular, Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, or similar technologies.
- Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, Node.js, C#, Java, PHP, or similar.
- Strong experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
- Advanced SQL proficiency, including complex query development, stored procedures, performance tuning, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and relational database design.
- Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar platforms.
- Experience designing and troubleshooting integrations between multiple enterprise systems.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, security, authentication, and application lifecycle management.
- Experience using Git-based source control and modern software development practices.
- Ability to independently research solutions, perform technical discovery, and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS cloud services including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, and related technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience working within healthcare or other regulated industries.
- Experience designing and implementing integrations between enterprise applications, third-party platforms, APIs, and cloud-based services.
- Experience building workflow automation and process orchestration solutions.
- Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, vector databases, document intelligence, or natural language processing solutions.
- Experience integrating AI services, Large Language Models (LLMs), or intelligent automation solutions into business applications and workflows.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native development.
- Experience supporting data warehouse, analytics, or business intelligence initiatives.
