JOB TITLE: Human Resources Generalist DIVISION: Human Resource

Reports to: VP of Human Resources FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non- Exempt /Salary

COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Graves Foods is actively seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic team in Jefferson City, MO. At Graves Foods, our HR team is dedicated to understanding and meeting the needs of our employees, delivering support effectively, and fostering a thriving workplace. This is an excellent opportunity for a people-oriented individual to embark on a rewarding career in human resources.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Develop and execute personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations.
Participate in the development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and ongoing reports for company requirements.
Administer benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs.
Suggest new procedures and policies to improve employee experience and HR department efficiency.
Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and employment laws, updating policies and procedures as necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare paperwork and schedules for a seamless new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to ensure an exceptional first-day experience.
Handle all administrative tasks related to onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and conducting audits for accuracy and compliance.
Provide a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to employees, addressing issues related to absence, health, conduct, capability, grievances, organizational change, and other employee-relations matters.
Serve as the primary backup for payroll processing, handling biweekly and semimonthly updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, vacation/sick pay, expense reimbursements, hourly-employee validations, and benefits changes.
Assist in the communication, interpretation, and maintenance of the employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contribute to policy development.
Will support all Graves Foods locations in Jefferson City, Chillicothe, & Jefferson City.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 3 years of human resources generalist experience within a large organization.
Previous internal payroll processing experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong ethics and cultural awareness.
Aptitude for problem-solving and a thorough understanding of HR procedures and policies.
Prior experience with payroll systems and knowledge of ADP software
Advanced knowledge of HRIS and the ability to learn new technical systems as needed.
Familiarity with national employment laws and regulations.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
Proven success in working within an HR department.
Resourceful mindset with strong attention to detail.

COMPENSATION: (Depending on experience)- $60,000- $75,0000 / yearly salary
