Full Job Description

**This position can be based out of Oklahoma City OK, Healdton/Ardmore OK, or Electra/Wichita Falls TX.

About Us & The Role

MVP Holdings is a privately owned energy logistics company headquartered in Wichita, KS. MVP and its subsidiaries provide gathering, transportation, processing, storage, distribution, marketing and other midstream services to independent oil and natural gas producers, refiners of petroleum and products and other market participants located throughout the United States. We are growing and looking to add a Field Safety Specialist to our team.

The Field Safety Specialist will help develop, implement, and manage the safety initiatives in the designated operational regions to align with the company’s overall safety compliance program. This will involve working closely with others both internally and externally to ensure safety compliance. The compensation range for this position depends on experience level and training needs, and will be assigned a company vehicle. Essential Functions

Assists in creating, implementing, and maintaining a safety culture to drive continuous health and safety innovation and compliance.
Serves as regional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Health & Safety topics.
Conducts & reviews all incident investigations and hazard near misses for trends, systemic issues, and lessons learned for designated region and assists as needed across the company.
Coordinates and shares safety information with appropriate departments.
Works with supervisors to understand safety upside as well as gaps within the system.
Onsite safety representative for field projects.
Leads emergency response drills with internal staff and support third-party vendors in emergency response personnel drills.
Manages onsite JSA safety protocols for projects.
Conducts required safety training for company employees and contract personnel.
Conducts additional H&S analysis as needed.

Complete other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to respond and react quickly in health and safety emergencies, including after hours and on weekends.
The ability to work in stressful conditions.
The ability to adapt and respond in changing circumstances.
Strong proficiency using entire MS Office 365 suite of tools, specifically MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Ability to travel to project locations, vendor sites or other terminals and offices.
Familiarity with safety regulatory requirements, and the ability to research them.
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to create and expand a proactive, employee driven health and safety culture.
Ability to accomplish tasks timely with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment when required.
Ability to evaluate multiple projects to identify health and safety risks, obligations and scope gaps on projects.
Ability to anticipate issues and solve practical problems.
Highly adaptable to changing needs within the organizations- adapts to rapidly changing priorities and resilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritize duties and work under pressure.
Able to maintain professional relationships both internally and externally and ability to work in a team environment.

Education, Certifications, License

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four year college or university in Occupational Safety or similar discipline is preferred.
OSHA HAZWOPER Certification (40 hours) is a plus.

Work Experience

3-5 years of related safety experience.
Oil & gas or energy knowledge is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work with various groups and personalities.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use arms, legs, and moving the whole body to walk, climb, stoop, reach, crawl, crouch, stand and kneel for an extensive amount of time.
Ability to push, pull, and lift 25 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to sit and operate a computer for an extended period of time.
Must be able to work in extreme temperature due to weather conditions and operating conditions.
Ability to travel to field sites.
Ability to periodically travel for extended periods of time.

Travel

50-75%, Includes traveling to project sites at various spots along the pipeline and trips could be day trips and overnight trips. Varies as needed.
