Carolinas Crossdock3PL is an Integrated Logistics Solution Provider performing a variety of end-to-end logistics-related service activities like air, ocean, and ground transportation, warehousing/crossdockand other value-added services that make up a total logisticsservices package. We are onthe search for an exceptional, hands-on Customer Service Representativewho will be committed to serving our employees and customers.
The Logistics Coordinator acts as an intermediary between the customer and the company to book loads with carriers while maximizing trailer/container utilization. Provides day-to-day customer service and logistics support for CC3PL clients including but not limited to routing freight through various transportation methods not limited to Truckloads, International, air and LTL shipments.
The hours are Monday-Friday. Shift times may vary. The hours are 4pm-12:30am.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS
· Responsible for executing day-to-day tasks involved with booking of freight utilizingpre-set carrier database.
· Serve as initialpoint of contact to receive and handle issues regardingservice and schedules.
· Build positive day-to-day relationships with current and new clients.
· Provide weekly and monthly reports to management, as well as internal and external customers, as required.
· Handle appointment requests for shipments.
· Provideload status updates to brokers, carriers, and customers.
· Communication with internal and external customers and carriers via phone, email, and instant message.
· Responsible for routing and tracking shipments.
· Coordinate transportation pick-ups.
· Tracking and updating in the TMS system.
· Facilitate routing decisions made by customers or preset by customer’ssuppliers and/or clients.
· Communicate shipment information regardingroute changes, delays, or early deliveries to appropriate internal and external customers as needed.
· Maintain accuratetracking/documentation in computer system.
· Perform administrative duties to include but not limited to photocopying, mailing, emailing, filing, scheduling, making, and receiving phone calls.
SKILLS
· Must be Bilingual (this role will take on responsibility of all the outbound shipping including Puerto Rico).
· Must have excellent computer skills. Previousexperience with a Transportation Management System is preferred, but the ability to learn new systems quickly is required.
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
· Demonstrates a high level of customer service, and strong communication and interpersonal skills (both listening and speaking).
· Demonstrates strong organizational skills (record keeping, time management, follow up, etc.)
· Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgency, ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work.
· Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite or Windows based software required.
EXPERIENCE
· Prefer one-year previoustransportation industry experience.
· Prefer at least one year in Maritime Shipping
EDUCATION
· Requires a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
· Associate degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience is preferred.
