To help save our customers green, we need an amazing team who knows all about it. Our National Finance & Administration Services department oversees the management of the critical resources and infrastructure that our people need to get the job done at every level. This service department is designed to make sure our retail divisions and executive leadership receive the support they need to run a successful operation. Within Finance our teams include: Accounting, Corporate Tax, Financial Reporting and Treasury and Finance.

In this role the Finance Group Director Assistant will work with executive stakeholders throughout the business to further the goals of the Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Corporate Development teams. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a dynamic business environment managing multiple stakeholders and priorities in an administrative position.

Position Type: Full-Time

Work Location: Naperville, IL

This role is eligible to participate in ALDI’s Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 3 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 3 days per week; work in-office at least 2 days per week).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Informs leader of status and results of assigned tasks and proactively identifies project issues and recommends corrective action as appropriate.

Recommends process improvements for area of responsibility.

Informs management when issues reoccur, or group training is required for employees.

Manages controllable expenses by monitoring team and relative expenses.

Provides subject matter expertise to ALDI Administrative Team.

Anticipates the needs and uses discretion when setting priorities to keep the Group Director and appropriate leaders updated and aware of meetings, agendas, and upcoming events.

Maintains Group Director’s schedule by planning and scheduling meetings both in-person and remote.

Ensures projects remain on track and tasks are completed by following up with key stakeholders and within department as necessary.

Discusses current and future initiatives with team to develop and execute appropriate strategies.

Resolves escalated issues and/or escalates issues to appropriate personnel and/or management when necessary.

Completes as needed projects with a high level of professionalism, thoroughness, and precision.

Ensures policies are regularly reviewed, updated, and implemented by analyzing working procedures with the objective to identify best practices and improve efficiencies.

Coordinates the involvement of multiple business stakeholders.

Responds appropriately to issues that require training by conducting training and cross training of knowledge and expertise within area of responsibility.

Provides support to the department and contacts appropriate internal personnel or external vendors when further expertise is required.

Assures employees complete assigned responsibilities in a timely and effective manner to provide the highest level of service for the business.

Develops and executes plans for smaller scale projects.

Performs research-based projects and small to medium-scale feasibility studies.

Assists their direct leader in implementation and rollouts of large-scale projects.

Analyzes working procedures with the objective to identify best practices and improve efficiencies.

Collects action items and takes meeting minutes.

Relevant ALDI business experience with an exceptional level of demonstrated success preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Work may be performed in an office, remote office or a combination of both where a computer and office equipment may be used as needed to perform duties.

Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.

Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.

Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.

Travel:

Local travel required.

Up to 10%.
