Full Job Description

As part of our National Finance & Administration Services department, you’ll help manage the critical resources and infrastructure that keep ALDI running smoothly. Your insights and skills will help every department make smarter decisions and ensure our retail divisions and executive leadership receive the support they need to run a successful operation. Within Finance, our teams include: Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Reporting, Tax and Treasury.

In this role, the Strategic Financial Planning Analyst II will help guide and support ALDI’s overall strategic goals - both domestically and internationally - and will participate in various financial modelling activities while working cross-functionally with the broader FP&A team to support operations and other national departments. The Strategic Financial Planning Analyst II will assist in comprehensive analyses of capital investments and long-range business performance, with a focus on growth, profitability, and optimizing return on investment.

Position Type: Full-Time
Work Location: Naperville, IL
This role is eligible to participate in ALDI’s Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 3 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 3 days per week; work in-office at least 2 days per week).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Supports the creation and maintenance of financial models to drive business decisions.

Analyzes working procedures with the objective to identify best practices.

Performs cost-benefit analyses, research-based projects and feasibility studies to support the operating divisions, national departments and committees, utilizing market and industry research, data analysis, and judgement to assist in development and validation of assumptions.

Extracts and analyzes historical financial data to accurately forecast expected future results.
Contribute to the return-on-investment analyses, aiding in insights into the performance of the investment portfolio against planned modelling.

Develops and executes plans for small-scale projects; determines and creates the required project deliverables.

Participates in analyses that contribute to the implementation of strategic and confidential large-scale projects such as long-range business plans, investment strategies, and financial models to support ALDI's overall strategic objectives.

Provides accurate and timely results to project stakeholders, including leadership and senior professionals.

Works with a sense of urgency to manage multiple projects and prioritizes effectively, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and meeting critical deadlines.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field required.

A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required.

Financial modelling experience, including the use of discounted cash flows, NPV, IRR, payback period required.

Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.

Physical Requirements:

Work may be performed in an office, remote office or a combination of both where a computer and office equipment may be used as needed to perform duties.

Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.

Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.

Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.

Travel:

International & Domestic travel required.

Up to 10%.
