Strategic Partnerships (SP) manages the most significant enterprise relationships across American Express, with a mission to build differentiated partnerships that unlock the potential of American Express’ strategic relationships to drive growth and innovation. The team is responsible for defining a multi-year partnership strategy, supporting key negotiations and projects, and driving new business opportunities globally with our largest Blue Box partners.

We are looking for a Project Coordinator who will provide high-quality support for the Chief Partner Officer (CPO), her executive office, and the Strategic Partnerships team. The Chief Partner Officer oversees a US-based team of 40+ colleagues, reports to the Vice Chairman of the Company, and sits on the Executive Committee in addition to multiple external board positions.

The CPO’s office is a dynamic, fast-paced environment and therefore the day-to-day responsibilities require seamless collaboration across a wide range of stakeholders both inside and outside of American Express. This position is an integral part of the team and needs to be extremely proactive in anticipating and adapting to the needs of the office.

The ideal candidate must be seasoned and experienced in handling a wide range of tasks and be able to work independently and confidently under pressure. Building strong relationships, ability to manage and operate in a dynamic environment, being resourceful and knowing how to navigate large organizations will also be critical to success in this position.

How will you make an impact in this role?

Managing quarterly, monthly, weekly planning for the CPO; highlight key meetings, external and internal travel, necessary preparation, etc.
Coordinating preparation for CPO on a day-to-day basis, including requesting and compiling materials, making necessary follow-ups, etc.
Managing general follow-ups and generating reminders to effectively meet deadlines and commitments.
Making multi-city and international travel arrangements and itineraries, including briefing books with logistics and client briefs.
Preparing, reconciling, processing, and approvals of expense reports in line with company and organization requirements using Concur Expense System.
Manage key team resources including updating distribution lists, contact lists, organizational charts, PTO tracking, etc.
Work closely with the Executive Office team to coordinate CPO office operations.
Minimal management of Vice President / Chief of Staff’s calendar and expenses.
Provide backup administrative support to Senior Executive Assistant.
Assist on special projects and events as capacity allows.

Minimum Qualifications

Proven track record of supporting executives effectively with a “customer first” mentality and keen attention to the executive’s job demands, experience and needs
Ability to operate with a high level of integrity for handling sensitive issues and maintain complete confidentiality.
Ability to develop and deliver effective verbal and written communications, at all levels of management, colleagues and business contacts, to clearly convey information and/or to influence thinking or action.
Excellent time management and organizational skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to work flexibly, sometimes under pressure.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work within deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and execute across multiple initiatives/tasks.
Ability to identify problems, determine possible solutions, and actively work to resolve issues with appropriate need for escalation.
High level of proficiency using MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as internal AXP (or related) tools and systems – WebEx, Zoom, Teams, Slack, Outlook, Ariba, Concur, SharePoint, etc.
Strong interpersonal, relationship and networking skills to build and maintain effective professional relationships across all areas of the organization.
Ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with executives and their offices across the organization.
Must be a team player who excels working in a dynamic environment.
Willing to work in the New York offices a minimum of 3-4 days per week.
Actively participate in team meetings and colleague engagement activities.

Salary Range: $24.05 to $48.10 hourly + bonus + benefits
