Ampere Computing LLC has an opening for a Verification Engineer VII in Santa Clara, California (REQ# AC2437)
What you’ll do:
Responsible for the full spectrum of design verification activities needed to thoroughly validate a server-class microprocessor at the system and core level. Create test plans at CPU, sub-system and system levels. Execute test plans at CPU, sub-system & system levels. Create & Execute test plans for RTL simulation, emulation and post silicon. Design, implement and enhance test benches, checkers, irritators, pre-loaders and verification environment at CPU and CPU cluster level. Contribute towards all aspects of verification infrastructure. Program and target multiple random test generators towards single & multi core designs in simulation, emulation, fpga and silicon platforms. Be able to contribute towards enhancement of the random test generators. Use HDL languages (System Verilog, UVM), programming languages (C, C++) and scripting languages (Python, Perl). Debug complex failures in RTL simulation, emulation, fpga and post-silicon. Drive random test generators to recreate post-silicon fails in RTL simulation. Launching, coordinating, and managing extensive regressions in simulation, emulation and post-silicon. Debug and triage resulting failures efficiently. Coding, analyzing, and targeting functional coverage. Utilize an understanding of microprocessor architectural and micro-architectural concepts. Comprehend in detail Arm architectural specifications. Communicate concepts, ideas and plans to managers and cross-functional teams. Filing clear and precise bug reports detailing investigations on the failures discovered. Competent in data analysis. Lead and mentor junior engineers. Assist in recruiting activities.

What You’ll Bring:
Experience must include:
- Two (2) years of experience in memory management concepts for loads/stores and instruction access.

Two (2) years of experience in test planning for CPU.
- Two (2) years of experience in Cosim test bench design, including checkers, monitors, and stimulus.

Two (2) years of experience in memory management translation unit verification.
- Two (2) years of experience in tools and infrastructure for verification.
- Two (2) years of experience in debugging failures using Cosim and RTL test bench.

Two (2) years of experience in Python and C++ for scripting and debugging.
- Two (2) years of experience in regression management and triaging.
Education:

Primary Requirement: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of experience in ARM architecture.

Alternative Requirement: Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and two (2) years of experience in ARM architecture.

Pay and Benefits
Ampere offers a competitive total rewards package that includes base pay, bonus, stock, and comprehensive benefits. The full base pay range for this role is between $177,341.00 and $194,000.00.
