Senior Vice President of Lending

LiftFund’s Mission is to provide credit and services to small businesses and entrepreneurs who do not have access to loans from commercial sources and to provide leadership and innovation in the microlending industry.

The Senior VP of Lending is responsible for managing and leading a team of small business loan officers to develop, cultivate, and grow business lending for LiftFund in the target market and region through consistent coaching, training, and leadership. The Senior VP of Lending is also focused on community outreach in order to increase visibility of LiftFund as well as self-originating and processing quality loan applications.

The Senior VP of Lending must be driven by the social mission of LiftFund to provide credit and service to small businesses that do not have access to loans from commercial sources. The position will represent LiftFund by interfacing with banks, borrowers, community organizations, and the business community at large.

The Senior VP of Lending works with their team, internal staff, and external stakeholders to successfully generate quality business loans in their respective markets. The position is directly responsible for the development and loan production for a team of small business lenders. All loan officers will have a specific lending goal as well as other KPI goals to attain during each month. The Senior VP of Lending’s team will primarily be responsible for the origination and processing of several loan programs funded from several sources. In addition, the team is the primary face and representation of LiftFund in their assigned markets. The lending team’s origination efforts are grass roots focused and completed through their interaction with their community through local bankers, chambers of commerce, community leaders, government officials, SBDCs and universities, and any other identified party that is focused the mission of providing access to capital for underserved small business owners. The Senior VP of Lending is not only responsible for the leadership, training, and strategy for this team; they must also be able to function as a “player coach” when necessary.

The Senior VP of Lending constantly examines and develops methods of increasing LiftFund’s market presence, production, and processing efficiency and accuracy. The Senior VP of Lending, as a leader in the organization, recommends and develops ways to provide products and services effectively and efficiently to our clients to ensure customer satisfaction. In addition, the Senior VP of Lending may be assigned to lending projects, process improvement activities, and other organizational activities as needed. The Business Development Officer will report to the Chief Lending Officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the management, support, and performance of a multi-state loan program in the respective areas (budget, marketing, production, delinquency, charge-offs)
Support and develop training programs designed for staff members
Present to management staff
Provide useful, timely and accurate reporting to LiftFund and other key stakeholders, as required.
Proactively develop, design, implement and ensure highly effective public relations and marketing activities with the intent on growing brand awareness and lending opportunities.
Ensure effective relationships with all external and internal constituencies to promote LiftFund.
Support development and implementation of office policies and procedures as they relate to the activities of the organization.
Participate actively in forecast and budget processes.
Ensure outstanding and consistent branding within the organization.
Inspire and motivate team members.
Proactively drives down operating costs and increases efficiency.
Model leadership, excellence, and results.
Embrace and safeguard organizational mission, values, vision, and culture.
Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

At least 2 years of sales management experience, preferably in small business lending or other financial services.
Strong knowledge of the SBA 7a SOP and its practical application highly preferred.
Completion of a formal credit training program preferred.
Proven track record of community outreach.
Comfortable in public speaking and presentation situations.
Professional presentation and familiarity with professional decorum.
Ability to occasionally work outside of business hours and on weekends when necessary.
Ability for limited travel to Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Florida.
Passion for organizational mission.

Travel
Routine travel within the local area and infrequent overnight travel, in and out of state, as necessary.

Position Type, Days and Hours
This is a full-time, exempt position. The days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm., but working beyond that schedule may be necessary from time-to-time.

Physical Demands
When working on-site, work is performed in a routine office environment. This job requires working under stressful conditions to meet deadlines and address unexpected work challenges. The job also requires the ability to operate office equipment (such as computers) as may be necessary to perform the position’s responsibilities.
