Full Job Description

BerryDunn has partnered with our client, Greater Nashua Mental Health, to find a qualified Controller looking for a growth opportunity and a desire to contribute to a mission driven organization. This individual will be responsible for all accounting operations including AR, AP, grants management, treasury and cash management, financial and regulatory reporting, assisting with the preparation and monitoring of the budget process, and acting as the point person for independent auditors. The ideal candidate will be located in New England but is not required to be in the office every day

Since 1920, Greater Nashua Mental Health has been providing vital community services to residents and families in the greater Nashua region. Their mission: empowering people to lead full and satisfying lives through effective treatment and support. In the over 100 years since they first opened their doors, they have seen a lot of progress – and the results can be seen in all that they have accomplished to aid the community, and where they stand today as it relates to providing mental health services to their neighbors in need.

In collaboration with your team you will:

· Oversee AR and AP processes and verifies accuracy through reconciliations and monitoring of internal controls.

· Maintains and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary journals through GL postings, reconciliations and reporting.

· Reconciles all bank and investment statements monthly and executes any approved bank account transfers. Uploads all payable information into Positive Pay and monitors cash flow daily.

· Completes monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for both management and external agencies. Ensures all regulatory reporting is completed within appropriate timeframes. Works with independent auditor to produce annual financial reports.

· Manage month end accounting close process.

· Assists with creation of annual budget and monitors expenditures, analyzing variances and initiates corrective actions.

· Participates in various committees and meeting and prepares ad-hoc reports as needed.

· Oversees, directs, and controls the grant revenue cycle process, ensuring invoicing is done on a timely basis and collections are timely.

· Works with the Revenue Cycle Manager regularly to ensure that system billing and general ledger integration issues are resolved on a timely basis.

Here is what you bring:

· A BS in accounting, finance or business with at least 6 years of experience in healthcare or social services organizations

· A CPA is ideal but not required

· Proven experience leading, motivating and developing a staff within a changing environment

· Experience with general ledger and payroll processing application

· Advanced Excel, accounting systems and analytical skills

· Ability to exercise initiative, work independently, and to exercise sound judgement

· Professional demeanor with effective, tactful, and persuasive written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills

· Understands budgeting concepts
