LOCATION: Remote position for candidate located in one of the larger cities in the western/southwestern U.S with easy access to a major airport.

Christian Medical & Dental Associations, the world’s largest faith-based organization of healthcare professionals, is seeking a full-time Regional Director of Stewardship Development – Major Gifts Officer. The successful candidate is an exceptional fundraiser who will grow strong and lasting relationships to help advance the mission and vision of CMDA. You will inspire generosity from a portfolio of current donors while identifying and cultivating new donor support. As member of the Stewardship Development Team, you will contribute your knowledge and experiences to help grow generosity for the ministries of CMDA.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Retain and increase year-over-year giving from assigned donors and region by 30% over three years.
Develop long-term relationships through personal interaction with assigned donors and prospects within the assigned region, striving to connect donor interests with the CMDA mission and ministries.
Plan and implement a strategy to ensure assigned donors are given appropriate attention each year.
Travel up to 40% to meet current donors and major gift prospects.
Network with current donors to identify new giving prospects who can make major gifts.
Arrange for major donors and those with a large sphere of influence to interact with CMDA’s VP of Stewardship, CEO and other ministry leaders.
Work with professional advisors currently serving CMDA donors and members to implement gift plans consistent with donor’s spiritual, tax, estate, and financial planning goals.
Keep informed of organizational announcements, activities, and changes by regularly reading CMDA’s publications, website and other ministry communications.
Visit CMDA’s national headquarters for onboarding and other Stewardship Team planning and training (as often as once per quarter).
Virtually attend weekly Stewardship Team meetings and other training programs as assigned. Contribute to larger ministry-wide objectives with a willingness to share ideas, skills, contacts and information with peers to maximize ministry effectiveness.
Partner with greater Stewardship team to create ministry impact reports, proposals and appeals.
Help organize events and activities that will foster deeper relationships with donors and prospective donors.
Properly and accurately manage monthly expense reports.
Perform other duties as assigned by the VP of Stewardship Development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A vibrant faith and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
A personal commitment to the Mission, Vision, Values and Statement of Faith of CMDA (see https://cmda.org/).
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of eight years of fundraising experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Familiar with donor database, prospect research and other wealth screening tools to aid in moves management process.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with a gift to compel individuals to action.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to cast vision and motivate others.
Strong initiative and self-motivation.
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality of sensitive materials.
Willingness to maintain a home office environment.

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Specific training in fundraising and major donor development.
Experience with grant writing, foundations and corporate donors.
Certification, e.g., Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Association of Health Care Philanthropy (AHP) or other.
Non-profit Christian ministry experience.
