Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the mechanical engineering aspects of projects in the MEP field. Your primary focus will be on designing, coordinating, and ensuring the successful implementation of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:

Lead the mechanical engineering team and provide guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop and review project plans, specifications, and design documents for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systems into overall project design.
Design and analyze HVAC systems, including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork design, and energy efficiency considerations.
Design and coordinate plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and sanitary systems.
Design and coordinate fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with fire safety codes and standards.
Perform calculations and simulations to evaluate system performance, energy efficiency, and thermal comfort.
Conduct site visits to assess existing mechanical systems, identify issues, and propose solutions.
Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project requirements, goals, and budgets.
Prepare technical reports, specifications, and drawings for construction documentation.
Provide support during the construction phase, including responding to requests for information (RFIs) and conducting site inspections.
Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in mechanical engineering and MEP systems.
Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly desirable.
Extensive experience (X+ years) in mechanical engineering, specifically in the design and coordination of MEP systems.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, as well as relevant codes and standards.
Proficiency in using industry software and tools for design and analysis (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC load calculation software).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex mechanical systems and propose effective solutions.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
Project management experience is a plus, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
