SUMMARY: Reporting to the Facilities Manager and Chief Security Officer, the Facilities Supervisor is responsible for the overall building safety, security operations, janitorial operations, and event security management during the afternoon and evening hours.

This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by AFSCME Council 31.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee the training, evaluation, work assignments and scheduling of outsourced security and janitorial personnel;
Oversee night custodial operations;
Assist in planning and coordinating internal security and life safety procedures;
Assist in operating and maintaining building security and life safety systems, including coordination of service and preventative maintenance;
Manage physical key access;
Provide support for internal and rental events hosted at the Library, including managing security and janitorial staffing responding to custodial needs, and enforcing building processes;
Coordinates tasks with the Facilities team when Manager is not onsite, and;
Perform all other tasks or activities needed for the achievement of departmental goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous property management experience required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with flexibility for scheduling and assignments
Practical understanding of facility record keeping, computer management systems, facility security systems, life safety processes, programs and procedures
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

SCHEDULE: This is a full-time, exempt position, working 35 hours per week, with normal hours generally from 1:00 PM-9:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. Incumbent must be able to adjust hours as needed to accommodate evening events. The incumbent will work onsite.
