Position Overview

Are you looking for a retail position that offers full-time work and the chance to make a difference? Come be a part of something worthwhile. When you work with Pathway Market you’ll receive valuable training and experience. The Store Manager will oversee a consignment retail facility which sells gently used and donated furniture, housewares, books, etc.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

Accountable for merchandising, operations, and customer service within a consignment shop store location
Develop creative plans to increase store sales
Ensure store presentation is consistent with company standards
Manage store to best address the needs of the business
Ensure every customer has a positive shopping experience
Lead the effort of attracting new customers and retaining returning customers
Recruit, train, develop, and manage associates
Focus staff on loss prevention
Oversee all aspects of the sales area; cleanliness and maintenance
Oversee intake and merchandising of goods
Be active on the Companies social media accounts
Manage and administer Facebook accounts
Manage day to day operations, opening and closing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must love thrift retail business, the sales model, staff and customer base
Have a good intuition for what has to be done to grow sales and satisfy customers
Must be productive, and lead by example
Demonstrate ability to manage, develop, and motivate associates
One to two years retail leadership experience required as a Store Manager (home goods experience a plus; examples: TJ Max, Marshalls, Target, Family Dollar, etc.)
Knowledge of retail operations
Familiarity with POS applications and registers, etc.
Some computer skills need to fill out production, sales reports and budgets
Experience in driving sales and recruiting new customers through social media
Strong interpersonal, communication, and follow-through skills

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree preferred but not required and Retail Management 1-2 years Minimum.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift at least 20 -50 pounds with out assistance.
