Mortgage Loan Closer/Funder

Location: Phoenix, AZ 85020

Position Summary

New West Lending, Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Closer/Funder to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, coordinating, and funding residential mortgage loan transactions while ensuring compliance with company policies, investor guidelines, and federal and state regulations.

This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to borrowers, brokers, escrow/title companies, and internal staff.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLoan Closing Responsibilities

Review approved loan files for completeness and compliance prior to closing.
Prepare and issue closing disclosures and closing packages in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Coordinate loan closings with borrowers, title companies, escrow agents, settlement agents, and internal departments.
Review closing conditions and ensure all conditions have been satisfied prior to funding.
Verify accuracy of loan terms, fees, documentation, and investor requirements.
Ensure compliance with TRID, RESPA, TILA, and applicable state and federal regulations.

Funding Responsibilities

Review executed closing documents for completeness and accuracy.
Verify all funding conditions have been met prior to disbursement.
Coordinate wire transfers and funding requests with warehouse banks and settlement agents.
Fund loans in accordance with company procedures and investor requirements.
Maintain accurate records of funding activities and funding authorizations.
Resolve funding issues promptly to ensure timely loan closings.

General Responsibilities

Communicate effectively with loan officers, processors, underwriters, borrowers, title companies, and investors.
Maintain productivity standards while managing multiple loans in various stages of closing and funding.
Identify and resolve documentation deficiencies.
Assist with post-closing quality control and audit requests as needed.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

QualificationsRequired

Minimum 2 years of mortgage closing and/or funding experience.
Strong knowledge of residential mortgage lending processes.
Familiarity with conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs and Non-QM Loans.
Knowledge of TRID, RESPA, TILA, and mortgage compliance requirements.
Experience reviewing closing documents and funding packages.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with mortgage loan origination system Calyx Point and Doc Magic.

Preferred

Experience working with warehouse lending facilities.
Experience with Calyx Point or similar loan origination systems.
Knowledge of investor delivery requirements.
Previous experience in a mortgage banker environment.
