Pedodontist (Pediatric Dentist)

Flossmoor, IL

Description

The Center for Dental Excellence has been providing exceptional service to Flossmoor and the surrounding areas for many years. Come join our team of general and multi-specialty experts, in our newly renovated, 21-chair facility. Our team has a focus on lifetime comprehensive care, patient relationships and a healthy team culture.

We are currently seeking an experienced practitioner to join us as a Pedodontist (Pediatric Dentist), supporting our 5 general dentists. Schedule is flexible: needing 1 day per week.

Responsibilities

Dental Examinations: Perform comprehensive dental examinations of infants, children, and teenagers to assess their oral health and identify any potential dental issues or abnormalities.
Preventive Care: Provide preventive dental care, such as cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants, to help children maintain healthy teeth and prevent dental problems.
Diagnoses and Treatment: Diagnose and treat dental conditions specific to children, including tooth decay, cavities, gum diseases, and developmental abnormalities. They may perform dental procedures like fillings, root canals, extractions, and space maintainers.
Patient Education: Educate children and their parents or guardians about proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing techniques, flossing, diet, and the importance of regular dental check-ups.
Dental Emergencies: Provide immediate care and treatment for dental emergencies, such as dental trauma, knocked-out teeth, or severe toothaches, in a gentle and reassuring manner.
Dental Records and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date dental records for each patient, including treatment plans, procedures performed, and patient progress.
Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest advancements and research in pediatric dentistry through ongoing professional development and continuing education courses.

Requirements

Active State Dental Board license
Must have DDS or DMD from an accredited school
Must be licensed to practice in the state of IL
Evaluate findings and prescribe methods of treatment to prevent loss of teeth and to restore teeth to function
Examines, diagnoses, and treats diseases of dental pulps and periapical tissues
Work with practice support to maintain a supply inventory and order supplies as needed weekly
Ability to build lasting relationships with our valued patient and team
