Position Opening: Human Resources Generalist

Department: Human Resources

Location: Wichita, KS

Salary: Full-Time, Salary with benefits

Summary: The Human Resources Generalist plans and coordinates the HR administrative functions for a region. This position assists with the following functional areas: Employee Relations, Recruitment and Selection, Onboarding/Offboarding, Employment Law Compliance, Administration of policies and procedures, and other HR functions as directed by the Human Resources Manager.

Responsibilities and Expectations

Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance;

Recruits, interviews, tests, and assists in selection of candidates;

Work closely under direction of HR leadership in the implementation of corporate policies related to human resources, organizational and employee development;

Conduct new hire orientation;

Audit personnel change forms for completeness, accuracy, and alignment to the Bank’s organizational and compensation structures

Support the employee offboarding experience and take the necessary steps to alleviate any policy violations or compliance concerns to HR leadership

Assist with Supervisor Training and Leadership Training;

Assists with the performance review process;

Coach management in employee relations issues;

Verify employee personnel files to ensure federal and state compliance; complete reference check, criminal background check, and professional license check;

Participate in the due diligence process with Mergers and Acquisitions;

Administer human resources strategies during bank conversion process;

Conduct employee and management meetings as required;

Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Required Skills & Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or other comparable degree required
Three to five years of HR experience in a generalist role
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Outlook, and HRIS systems
PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
Employee is responsible for understanding and following the applicable laws and regulations for their job responsibilities including but not limited to Equity Bank Business Ethic and Conduct policy, Bank Secrecy Act, Information security, and Suspicious Activity reporting requirements.
Travel is required up to 20%
