TITLE: ELECTRICAL ENGINEER/ELECTRICAL DESIGNER-DRAFTER

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:

ACME Worldwide Enterprises, Inc. (“ACME”) is a Simulator and Training Company specializing in Motion Cueing technologies for Military and Commercial systems worldwide. Our patented dynamic motion seats and full-force machine gun trainers provide real-world sensations, cueing, and motion training for simulators. Since 1996 we’ve helped customers across the globe with unique training, technology, and simulator support services.
We design and produce unique , immersive training systems . Our motion systems help crews in simulators train realistically and effectively for operations in the real world. For example, our machine gun trainers feature actual full-force recoil to help gunners train in simulators to anticipate and overcome the machine gun’s intense recoil so they’re effective shooters in the real world when lives might depend on them. Our Dynamic Motion Seats in Sims replicate the sensations felt when operating land, air, or sea vehicles so crews train in the actual environment they’ll feel in the real world. And realistic motion is critically important for learning to recognize malfunctions or emergencies where a problem, such as a weapon impact, is felt first and crews must immediately respond.

OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE:

ACME is seeking a talented and motivated electrical engineer/electrical designer-drafter with demonstrable experience in motion control systems. This individual will report to the Engineering Manager of ACME and will be expected to support all testing, design, and development activities. EEs must be able to demonstrate creditable knowledge and expertise in the area of control systems and AC & DC power distribution and PLC systems.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Electrical Engineer
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Designing, developing, and testing aviation trainers and training components.
Understanding of electro-mechanical controls required, including integration and interfacing of such systems
Applying principals of electrical engineering to design and analysis of electrical circuits and systems;

Documenting electrical designs using AutoCAD Electrical software to layout the design on drawings such as schematics, connection diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
Coordinating the implementation and integration of the electrical design into the production product.
Applying ACME configuration management procedures and processes.
Preparing and presenting electrical design reviews for approval.
Participating in design reviews with engineering and management;
Participating in configuration control board meetings as required.
Teaming with Mechanical and Software Engineers throughout the design process to ensure that Electrical, Mechanical, and Software designs are synchronized.

Position may require both domestic and international travel.

Problem solving – The individual must demonstrate a methodological approach to solving problems, often selecting approaches that are innovative yet sound in judgment and science/engineering. He/she must be resourceful when developing solutions to mitigate cost overruns;
Oral and written communication – The individual must speak clearly and concisely in positive or negative situations without being condescending. He/she must demonstrate solid group presentation skills and conduct effective meetings. He/she must display the ability to effectively communicate and work with personnel from a variety of technical and educational backgrounds. He/she must prepare high-quality, detailed technical reports and documentation and provide regular, detailed status updates to management and be able to identify potential issues early in the design phase;
Quality management – the individual must understand the importance of implementing quality management and continually work to improve quality in all areas of work. He/she must seek and implement accepted “Best Practices” from ISO, IEEE, ANSI, and other standards organization; and
Management skills – The individual must exhibit effective leadership and efficient time management of projects/tasks, with the capability to support multiple projects simultaneously.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Electrical Engineer/Electrical Designer-Drafter

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering AND 5+ years of experience in motion control systems OR a Master’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited University
