Full Job Description

Description:

Works closely with the department head, health policy analyst, Navvis’s leaders and clients. Analyzes performance trends, is forward-looking identifying both industry and payer trends across Medicare ACOs, Medicare Advantage, Star Ratings, Episode Programs, Quality Payment Program (QPP) and new CMMI models. Supports ACO governance meetings, MSSP requirements and builds rapport and manages relationships with ACO administrators. Looks for ways to positively impact performance. Runs preliminary impact analysis of CMS changes and initial opportunities for savings tactics or new initiatives; works closely with financial analysts and analytics for full analysis or financial models of proposed changes for both ACOs and Medicare Advantage. Prepares client-facing presentations, works across departments within Navvis and across Navvis’s clients, and project manages strategic initiatives.

Responsible for staying on top of all value-based contract and alternative payment model changes, application timeframes and deadlines:
Monitors CMS Spotlights, MSSP ACO website, MA Call Letter, QPP updates, case studies and published papers; reads the “read me” files and CMS memos and notices;
Reviews quarterly and annual ACO, MA and other alternative payment contract data looking for trends and opportunities for performance improvement by comparing and contrasting performance across markets;
Looks for annual updates to STARs, changes to quality measures and HCC changes;
Understands benchmarking methodology, risk adjustment and contract performance levers; and
Subject matter expertise in how Medicare beneficiaries are assigned to ACOs, enroll in Medicare Advantage enrollment, and marketing materials to support annual enrollment campaigns to grow populations.
Prepares ACO Board and Committee materials and attends governance meetings, attends client-facing meetings and manages client ACO operational relationships with ACO administrators.
Facilitates a monthly meeting of changes with analytics, financial analytics, practice engagement providers, and care management, as applicable.
Analyzes Data & Performs Research:
Utilizes CMS’s data and public use files (PUF) to identify best practices across ACOs, STARs, Bundled Payments, trends performance across time, and analyzes changes in member and beneficiary attribution;
Attends conferences and webinars to learn of best practices across high performing groups; and
Recommends the top initiatives for consideration for improving contract performance, Star Ratings and CAHPs surveys.
Analyzes Industry/Policy Impact & Builds Workflows:
As industry changes are identified, perform preliminary research and impact analysis of new alternative payment models (APMs), changes to existing programs, and Quality Payment Program (QPP) financial and reporting impact;
Based on preliminary research, identify where an analytics request or financial modeling is needed; and
Researches and builds playbooks that are not physician facing areas (e.g., patients opting out of claims sharing or patients not seen in 12 months).
Project Management:
ACO specific initiatives
New alternative payment model applications/application renewals
Cross-functional team research, analysis, modelling, initiating analytics requests
Board and Committee Meetings.

Requirements:

We are excited about you if you have these things:

5-7 years’ experience working in a healthcare setting.
Experience supporting ACOs and collaborating with clients.
Analytical with strong Excel skills to query CMS data and understanding of alternative payment models and the QPP program.
Focus on process and process improvement, experience building processes and measuring process improvement.
Experience reading and analyzing CMS, CMMI, State Medicaid, CHIP or other government programs and performance reports.
Understanding of health systems, health plans or large IDNs.
Curiosity to dig into the drivers behind data and reports to understand the claims, healthcare policy changes, intellect and patience to thoroughly research the policy and a keen attention to the details for accurate reporting.
Decisive and results oriented.
Strong collaborative and team skills.
Ability to work in a virtual office and virtual teaming experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare, strong preference given to MBA
