Manufacturing Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing floor to ensure efficient production, quality standards, and timely delivery of products. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to optimize operations while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process, including production planning, scheduling, and execution.
Ensure production targets are met, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Monitor production metrics and implement improvements to increase productivity.

Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and quality within the team.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.

Process Improvement:

Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and lower costs.
Work closely with management, quality, and maintenance teams to optimize equipment and processes.
Use Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to drive operational excellence.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure all products meet or exceed company and customer quality standards.
Work with the quality assurance team to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Safety Management:

Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing company safety policies and procedures.
Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to minimize workplace accidents.
Investigate and report any safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Resource Management:

Manage the allocation of labor, materials, and equipment to meet production goals.
Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure the timely availability of materials.
Oversee inventory management and control processes to minimize waste and reduce costs.

Budgeting and Reporting:

Develop and manage the manufacturing budget, monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, quality metrics, and other key operational indicators.
Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term strategies for manufacturing operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing management role.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies (certification preferred).
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in manufacturing software and tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Working Conditions:

Full-time position; may require occasional overtime or weekend work.
Must be able to work on the manufacturing floor and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
